very nice shading!! you're problem is: youre lines are sometimes off!! you should study anatomy, so that you can have great&correct shapes, shaded nicely! An example is that profile of that man with the scar in your sketchbook, who's skull is about half as long as it should be!!
check out my sketchbook if you have time!!
    cheers,
    odt!

Excellent stuff. Your thread shows amazing progression, keep up the great work.

Love the figure drawings from life (the portraits too) but I think you need to work on anatomy studies along with getting the proportions right when you are working without reference.

You've got a year and a day on me, I have to catch up :-P

    Im alive!
I kinda died for awhile there, spent the last couple of weeks partying away the end of my senior year in high school.
Now Im ready to get back into this.

front inside cover of a new sketchbook
gouache, ignore the little black spots that look like stubble, its from rubbing up against the other pages

I also got my tablet fixed up so expect a bunch of that stuff sometime in the near future.

    some figure drawings

    2 shortish poses

    20 min pose

something went terribly wrong with this one, i have no clue how i overlooked the basic proportions like that 10 min pose with markers

    20 min pose

and just having some fun messing around with some colored inks

I still have a small stack of figure drawings to go though and scan, ill work on that.

the girl's eyes from may 17th are amazing. ..and the sketch from ref from nov is AMAZING. would love to see you do more studies from photos...it's where you'll really learn the subtelties of rendering flesh.

    keep it up
