Watercolor

I did some watercolor for a school project a few days ago, and I've found that I quite like it.

I'm wondering if someone can direct me about what kind of supplies I should get if I want to get more serious about this.
And is there a difference between the watercolor that comes from tubes and the kind that comes in solid form? I'm curious about gouache as well - any tips/comments on that?
