Look out below- huge card dump!

Here's a bunch of cards done for Upper Deck and Marvel. Per their process, all images are 5" x 5", done in three phases- pencils, inks and colors. I got away with really rough bluelines for the pencil stages, inked these puppies with Micron pens, as is my wont, then painted 'em up in Photoshop.

Mendel Stromm, former partner of Norman (the Green Goblin) Osborne, currently an undead cyborg dude. Yikes!

The assassin Bulleye (movie variation)- it's all about the barrels, baby.

Blarrgh! It's the Demogoblin- booga booga.

    So.. purple. Vampires-feh!

    Wotta revoltin' development!

Scorpia, as designed by the suave and talented Terry Dodson- I tried to keep the flava he gives his segsie girls...

Hey, Kids- drugs = money! A meth lab, just like mom's...

Magneto, the Mutant Master of Magnetism's sub-volcanic Antarctic lair. I had just one bit o' reference fir this- a tiny, rather diagrammatic side-elevation-type drawing by John Byrne. I just made it all up!

The Gobin Glider, awaiting it's dread master. When they say parking in Manhattan sucks...

    Tha-tha-tha-tha-that's all fer now, folks!

nice works chuk. the purple of the vampire one is a big much, methinks. the handling of the colors in alot of the other ones turned out really successful. The smoke from the volcano worked out really well too...dope!

Nice stuff. I love the artwork on cards, whenever I get into a card collecting phase, that's why I do it; The artwork.

Nice work Chuk. I love the color work.

Pigma Micron note: I switched over to hi-tech C's after DNS2k let me try one. Basically because I press to hard and split my micron's tip. Also, the line doesn't "split" when I draw to fast. They are around $3 each here, but I imported a box of them from Japan for under a $1 a pen.

I'll drop you an email soon. I'm back at work and wanna bang on Blur's door.

    Cheers man,

    Phil

Dig it! I'm not really feeling the purple vampire piece too much either. I like the drawing, but the purple makes me hurt a little.

I really like Mendel and the Demogoblin, but for some reason my fav is the Meth Lab piece. I dunno, it just seems really strong. I think I'm diggin' the sort of dual monotone scheme on it too.

Anywho, nice to see some new stuff from ya.

Love the somewhat cartoony style of your work, but the obvious industrial design drawing underlay that makes them look real too. Cool stuff.

Bam! Love from CA... Thanks, everybody!

Jetpack- Methinks you're right, but vampires are just purple to me.

Bluemech- I love the opportunity to do some cards now and then. I busted my hump to get into comics and don't have the time to do interior art anymore (snf)- this is my chance to dip my hairy, troglodytic toe into it every now and again.

Phil- You must draw too fast! I almost never split my tips any more- slow and methodical is how I approach my inking. Now, blue pencils- I have a jar I'm filling up with broken points! Knock on our door any ol' time...

fukifino- I really scratched my head when I got the Meth lab assignment, but I googled up a bunch of scary stuff and put this together. The colors were actually sampled from a pic of some crusty death-ware... brrr!

Ron- Thanks- I struggle a lot with the perception of the "cartooniness" of my stuff- glad you like it. For some people, the mere prescence of line in a toned piece can pigeonhole it as a dreaded "cartoon".

Mankindram- I've been quietly monitoring your progress over at Mike's forum- thanks for the niceness!
