Hey all, got off on the wrong foot with some by having 80% of my first 7 posts deal with politics...blegh. So now for something completely different...and non-political. I always end up sketching at some point in my day, and since you all have inspired me and I've started doing research into form and anatomy and the like, thought I'd start a sketchbook here. Here goes nothing...

Anyone read Lone Wolf 2100?

Reading from Loomis while doing the following:

Consequentially, can anyone point me towards a good diagram or reference for facial planes or head construction? Loomis broke the body down into great reference planes, but the head I was kind of taking my own stab at.

Any input/comments/critiques are why I put this stuff here to begin with, so say what ye like. I'm already working on my line quality (I always reline with ink on any serious piece), so that point's noted already.

(Edit: took out some old stuff, they all scanned like crap)

Well, been practicing...

...gotta finish the legs and hardline the whole thing.

Various head studies, started out doing them from my head then switched to reference images. I should do that the other way around next time.

Been sketching a lot lately to loosen up forms and not draw the same pose 20 times in a row. Also, my scanner is putting up a fight not wanting to scan whites as whites, but more like ugly mostly-white reds. That's all from me, here're a couple more.

Mmm, out of the abyss. I done stopped sketching for too long.

Just a couple studies from Hogarth, I'll dig around and upload some more sketches if I feel like they show any kind of progress. Oh yea, I started using pen to gain some line confidence.

I think the image from your dad is awsome and the hair is pretty good although it doesesn´t look thouchable. I think hair is pretty important but I never saw some artist here, how drawed touchable hair. i AM TALKING TOO MUCH about hair.
It seems you have a good anatomy knowledge. This is all I can say sorry
