I think your nudes are progressing pretty nicely! But the clothed piece in this last page needs a little work. At first sight it seems like the upper arm rolls like that but there are actual pipe folds and zig zag folds in there. But I'm digging what your doing with the shading on it. I personally have not colored much in PS. So props to you.

Oh and the first and second page have some really great stuff in there!!!!

hey. looks good. way to tackle clothing. drappery can be hard.
one quick thing. I noticed in your nudes, the arms are teeny tiny on some of them. It has improved slightly in the most recent post, but still they are a tad thin and short in a couple. Just something to pay attention to.
I like the poses in your figures. very interesting.

Ok update for today....one side profile of Yutani while we were at barnes and noble drawing wierd people, 1 quick gesture sketch page from last night before i passed out, and 1 AMAZING chair...which I never got to actually draw cause we left.

sabe: yeah I know what you mean. The folds are wayy off..I basically had to make them up My woman kept moving after 5 minutes even though she was sitting...so there goes drawing what you see haha. Also the angle of her eyes is off

incolorinred: yes i noticed that too...the arms are wayy too short in some of them...so I must pay a bit more close attention to them.

Alday: I still know what you are talking about...and can't wait to try it when I splash into photoshop again with my as of yet unfinished peice. But in the mean time merci pour le bon mots I hope that at least looked like it was french

You're moving along, but I think you need to kick it up a notch or a dozen.
How about following in footsteps of android and doing an sp a day?
I think it will do your observational skills loads of good.

Oh, and I'm definitely up for sat/sun this week, pm some details about that.

decided to go back into this one again and start to clean it up more. I am hoping to emphasize less the line art and more the form as I get this one better and better.

A little bit of an experimental dump for you all.....

Been messing around with just free flowing forms and creativity rather than straight observation like usual. It is a lot of fun. Of course going back to observation helps too ;P That will be later though.

first up is an amalgom of shit i sketch in like 20 seconds while waiting for the printer at work to print out my vector art stuff.

Next up is some playing around with Painter 8 which can be a very fun program to work with And silhouttes are nice to mess with too.....again just letting wierd lines flow in odd directions..

Last is a painting that I am working on for a friend. Yes a real live painting. Been going at it for about 3-4 coats now, basically just laying down bigger shapes and then getting to smaller shapes and smaller and also giving myself some guides to think about along the way (the lines on the tower for instance) even though I paint over them too Acrylic on shitty prefab canvas

ok pretty much all that i have been doing lately is working on a painting for my friend after work each night. I am getting closer to being finished but man..he wants it this upcoming week

if anyone has any crits please advise....esp you Jules ;P

*note that I am not going for realism here....more a painterly style...I would love impressionistic, but that would take me way longer than the time I am alotted to do this in.

Ok I finally have the last set of images for this painting. I can't say I totally love it and at the same time I am proud of doing it since I haven't physically painted with acrylics in a longggg ass time. But alas here it ees!!! Some close ups for those of you who give a rats ass (prolly just me

I am hoping to get on the bandwagon and do more of this soon I already have two more canvases...plus my little creature guy that I was doing with the wasted paint....I will post taht later though...when I can take a decent pick of it.

    peace out home slices.

Great skill and imagination and a large body of work here - this is sketchbook is quite an inspiration.

Just a quick thing about the colouring you said you need to work on - I'm referring to the digital paintings. It looks to me like you're using soft edged brushes. From my limited knowledge it is probably better to be using hard edged brushes and blend and build up your colours using a low opacity. That said you're obviously improving your colouring a lot anyway.

Thanks for the kind words guys...time to put up some more and plug away more at the possibilities of becoming an artist for hire

trying to be a bit more messy to free up my brain from sticking to tightness as well as littlle choppy lines.

I hope some enjoyment comes out of these

    peace out

this next one is going to be a 2 parter cause its so facking late and i need to get to bed :|

1 hour so far in photoshoppe. Tilted the pic sideways while referencing so I would pay more attention to the lines and not who she looks like. I will finish this up tomorrow and go for another full.

Woah, your speed paints are good! Are these paint overs or did you started blank? I see you like asians too I really should do more studies from life... I'll try that cup trick of yours

For your figures, try to study opposing curves and masses. Remember, they're not limbs, they're a bunch of forms that are moving in 3D space. Forms that contain 75% of water!

I don't know what else to say except KEEP DRAWING EVERYDAY!!!
haha, keep at it bro, you're improving fast! and thanks for commenting my sketchbook. You're a regular

Those are from reference, not paintovers. I open a photo in PS...put it to my left since I am right handed. OPen up a new canvas and paint on it on the right. I use the eye dropper to help me understand the color relations better ( my form of cheating/learning at the moment)...and viola! The new one I am working on perhaps I can make into stages for you to see.
