In Painter 7, the dropper tool is toggled with the option(alt) key.
The brush size can be changed interactively by holding down Cmd(Ctrl)+Opt(Alt)+Shift keys whilst clicking and dragging to display a dynamically adjustable circle (representing the brush circumference).

Thanks, David.

Another quick way to resize a brush is to use the "[" and "]" keys, "[" to make it smaller and "]" to make it larger.
The "B" key activates the Brush tool for Freehand painting and the "V" key for Straight Lines
The "D" key activates the Dropper tool.
To learn how to activate the other Tools palette icons, click keys on your keyboard and note which ones activate which icon. All but the Perspective Grid Adjuster, activated using the "." (period) key, are activated using letter keys.
While the Alt/Option key does temporarily activate the Dropper tool when some other tools are active, it doesn't with all of them.
Just a few examples, though you'd need to learn how it works (or doesn't work) with each of the tools:
With the Magnifier tool active, the Alt/Option key changes the Magnifier to zoom out.
With the Grabber, Rotate Page, and Perspective Grid Adjuster tools, it has no effect.
With the Lasso tool, it allows you to delete parts of an active selection.
Please do not PM me with Painter questions. Instead, post them here where everyone can benefit from them. Thanks!
