The Man ain't got nothing on this man
His mind is so complex like a web, you will be lost in a maze, and amazed at the same time
Who is this man name Bojee, who is he really?

Stay tune for these answers after these brief messages from our sponsor......

Bojee, my wife loves your work...as do I. But herein lies the problem....for some reason Photofuckit sometimes doesn't load up at home, I have no idea why...which leaves us unable to check up on you or bitch about how easy you make it look....

I may have to sort something out and host your images for you or something!

Anyway, great stuff as always...now I'd best dl these so I can take em home to show madoliane....

Real sketchbook stuff, I need to post this stuff more often so it's not such a huge dump but I'm not really into scanning.

Surist way have me draw you is to sit across from me when I'm sketching, sure enough I'll get to it eventually.

Meerkat drew the 2 on the right.

I posted some paintings a while back of a model hanging from a trapeze, I loved the inverted forms, the paintings were alot more static cause she had to hold them for longer but I live for the gestures and these were extra special.
I started out in pen and then switched to charcoal cause it wasn't flowing enough for me.

Motion is emotion :::: I think we share a love for motion and rhythm
:::: when Leo said we should make our drawings life like he wasn't talking about realistic academic renderings :::: he was talking about capturing the life force : the essence of life : its rhythms and energies : should people never really grasp this concept ::: you obviously do that is what makes these simple little drawings something special

Your gestures always have a nice illustrative quality to them. I could really see them applied to some graphic design.

I love the breakdancing gesture ones, back in my old school dayz we use to have breakdancing sessions that I would enter, nothing beats doing a windmill and farting to clear a room......ahhh sweet memories.

Matt- I forgot to thank you and Madolaine for checking up on me all the time...greatly appreciated.
Groover- Thanks bro, maybe you could show me what you me sometime. Love to meet the inspiration for red riding hood on your thread, she's looking sexxxxy.

Sok- Damn you've just done it all huh? I played around with breakdance thing a little bit too but I didn't have any friends that were into it so it only went so far. Lol, probably better that way. I also did capoiera for a while too and that was a better fit. Heh, you'll have to bust out the moves at sketchgroup sometime.

Rusty- Thanks for the visit my friend. Lol, sometimes it doesn't seem so much like I'm in control as it does like I'm along for the ride, the faster it gets the more focused I become and the less my own thoughts get in my way, hence the title of this sketchbook, that monkey's chattering all the time. Lol, and about the reclining painting, heh, I just call them as I see them, it does look like his nuts are caught in a vice. If you have any more crits please let them fly, I value your opinion.

Mentler- I think I like the gray but the sepia looks cool too. Been loving your avatars lately, it's good to let your humor come out, you leave some funny posts sometimes too, it's great to have you around.

Hurricane- Bjorn thanks , I appreciate it. Loving the OC stuff and your drawings always rock.

Madolaine- Hey girl, thanks for checking up on me, your too sweet! Thank you very much.

    A few more

Cool more gesture work, that last one has a Phat ass, it's HUGE, so huge you can tell time on it, like a sundial...compliments to the model , lol I probably get slap for that one, correction I would get slap for that one, but at least she touched me....

When it comes to breakdancing I've only did it in middle school, simple basic moves nothing fancy, I wasn't to technical in it, just enough to say I can do decent moves at the time. It was purely self taught after the guys showed me simple ways to do it, there was barely anyone doing it after a year, cept me and my black friend at the time, we would always practice during lunch, and was able to show off our skills during the school dance, always good to hear "Go Sokha, Go Sokha, Go Sokha" it was the shit, and it felt good. I even had a 1 day girlfriend because of it.....1 day because I didn't know how to date and got scared. Did a little bit of popping as well, still got my Mr. Wiggles tape.

There's still so much I wanna do, my list goes on and on, life is an adventure take it on for a ride, if you hit a bump go over it, if you get stuck behind a tree go to the side of it, if richard simmons is in front, run him over....those are your decisions why stop when you have ways to overcome it.

Lol, definitely props to the model but I tend to push it, I likes the curves and everything in between.
You got a great attitude bro, any chance you could move to seattle?? I think you'd be happier.
Kekai- Yep, no life drawing , no painting, but you did make sketch crawl and that was fun. Cute naked girl on saturday, you should show up.

Bojee you're an amazing artist. I don't know that I've said that enough.

I must have a hundred of these gestures saved buy now, and as I was going thorough your thread I realized that you're influencing my drawing. Especially on the last character I did, all of my thumbnails were studies in weight distribution and movement but I diddn't realize this until after the fact. There is so much to learn from studying your drawings!

I'd type more but my computers a bitch!

I'm guessing those gestures are one continuous line? it looks pretty seamless, you should practise that with drawings out of your head too, it has a great effect. great painting series too

Intern - Thanks, those seem to be the most popular.

JackalAnubis- I don't lift my drawing tool up much but I do lift it, good call though. Haven't perfected it for drawings out of my head, I'll work on it. Thanks.

Did you draw Lani at sketch night?? Great sketches as usual man. Nothing but praise, and thanks for a great afternoon. Many things for me to stew on...those that I remember, anyway.

    Hey Boj
great stuff- i LOVE the gestures and how you manage to convey so much information with just a simple line- great model and poses too. My only crit is that i think you stiffen up considerably when you do longer drawings (well, yeah, we all do that) and your sense of proportion seems to change dramatically. Looking at your paintings, and some of the sketchbook pieces, you seem (to me) to strech the faces out a bit and flatten them down. I cant think what you could do to remedy this, but i thought id point it out anyhow...
the guache studies are still my favorites, you handle color superbly.

JP- Thanks Bro, Great hanging with you too, you've got a lot of interesting thoughts rolling around in that head of yours, I hope you take action one day....somebody needs to but we've all got different paths. Edit : Jp Yeah that's Lani, she was at sketchgroup last week.

Layil- You are so right, I think part of it is scale and part of it is allowing enough time for my brain to get in the way. Flattening out is probably over rendering or trying to figure out what to do with the time, and the elongation of the bodies and faces is intentional, sometime it seems very hit or miss, I think it works best when it is consistent through out the body. I'm glad you like the goauche stuff, probably the painting I'm most happy with right now. It's funny, I like my smaller paintings and my larger drawings, The smaller paintings seem to work better compositionally and the larger drawings seem to be freer in some respect and more economy of motion in others. Thanks for the critique, I'll try to return the favor.

If you haven't checked out Foster's Kong please do so, make sure you scroll down to see his thumbnails. He's such a open cool guy too. Check it out. Foster's Kong
    Happy T-day

A few more, this first one's a little convoluted but I like some of the shapes going on.

"Fluid" is right!! Those gestures have found a place in my heart .
The weight and movement of the body, it's all there in a very expressive series of simple lines. There's this playfullness and freedom in these that inspire me so much.
    This is great stuff Bojee.
I don't comment much on your thread because I can only praise so much and crit so little but I'm always watching.
It baffles me how you hammer this stuff out. You seem to be living art full time.
Do you work in the art industry or are you studying?

All these praises that you get is well deserved, like I said before sell these gestures call it modern art, speak as if it came from the purest of minds and sell it for millions.

    Thanks Guys!
maxetormer- Thanks, it's the first commission piece I've done in that style, I've yet to hear back from the client about what they think. It's actually done with a big pallete knife instead of brushes, it forces me to deal with simple shapes and try to distill it down to what I think is important. That's what I'm shooting for anyway. I'm glad you dig it.

Dennal Floss- Thanks, "Fluid" is just me talking to myself saying that's what I want shoot for. When the poses come fast enough you have to figure out ways to edit. I'm striving to do it all the time but I also have a ton of old work that i can post when I get too busy. I was an illustrator for a couple of years and now I'm trying to make it as a fine artist whatever that means,,I've done alright in Seattle, I'm about to go back to school out in Baltimore at a school called MICA, just trying to shake things up so I don't get complacent. I've also always wanted to live on the east coast. Baltimore is fairly cheap for a east coast city and it's close to a lot of other big cities so I can check out their museums and gallery districts. Someday maybe I'll live in New york for a time, Seattle will always be home though. Thanks for the support bro.

Youre right, the hands are lovely on the cowboy one- and you seem to not be stretching your figures so much this time, good job.

LOVE LOVE the thumbnails- awsome b/w contrasts n shapes...

il like to see a bit more line variation on the gestures though.

Those two thumbnails are awesome, even without details you can make your own stories, both the top and bottom thumbnails look like the coliseum, top one is him facing the king, knowing that he had won the battle and is about to leave to fight another day, the bottom is the same except the king points to the door as it's his last battle, "enter through that door, that will be your door of freedom, Caesar says" He stands alone knowing that death is within a single grasp of breath. Now unhinged and given freedom by Caesar he finally realized that all this killing, all this torment was to see this day, if not this day, death would have already freed him.

Thanks guys, thanks for the feedback.

Layil- hey girl, thanks for stopping by, I'm glad you like the hands, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I'm also glad you like the thumbnails, kinda had a revelation about that, working with big shapes first when I'm working out of my head. I'll work on more variety in the lines for ya, thanks for the crit.

Oregano- thanks bro, maybe we could do a trade. Just PM me with your address and I'll send something up your way.

Sok- You nailed it man, that's almost exactly what i was shooting for, the trick for me is taking it further and still keeping it fresh.

Mainloop- Thanks for stopping by bro, yeah gestures seem to be the popular ones.

A few from the Sketch crawl, documenting your day with drawings, had fun.

This seems like a day where I'm posting everyone elses art on my thread.

Mr. Groover Mcnab did me the honor of playing around with a couple of my gesture drawings, using them in a design comp to show me what he was talking about. I got his permission to post them, I think it turn out pretty cool, it's fun to see how someone else sees your work. Thanks Groover!

Whoa your doing alot with collabs, I really like the one Groover did, it goes well with any theatre or musical dance, or ballet type of theme posters, it works very very well, you should definately look into something like that.

If anyone's girlfriend or wife ask, does my butt look fat?, then you say well by Bojee's drawing gestures yours are about just right.

the beauty of the fractal is its a sort of a shadow expression of waht seem to be a fundimental underlying nature of universe ... like the holigrameach of the smallest bits contain the information of the whole .. it sthe relation ship of the viewer that yealds the complexity and simplicity of it all .... depending on where you stand, what framework you put on it ... we being the apiture that the universe looks at it self we see that chaos and order are of corse one and the same

Liam- Thanks, sometimes I think you see much more in my work than I do myself. If you like that piece you should check out Ann Gale's work, she does it much better than I do, I had just seen a lecture she gave and for me the best way to figure something out is to try it. Iwish you were coming to SF too.

    damn man, these are tight.

i love the way u develop the figure and how you go about these gestures, your lines are thoughtful and very carefully put, the confidencce in your lines are superb.

your stuff reminds me of lucian freud, (which is not a bad thing at all) i would like to see more finihsed figure pieces, if you can give the finshed ones the same flow as your gestures youll be in business.
