It's a stop-motion animated film with very adult themes to it - loosely based on actual events from the 1800's in Russia, during a time when anti-semitism was rampant. Anti-semites would waylay Jewish bridal carriages and murder the bride, the "logic" behind this being that they were exterminating jews by killing the mother of future generations.
From what it looks like, the movie apparently follows the story of one such Jewish bride who has returned from the dead. Whether it is a story of revenge or tragedy remains to be seen.
Also; Johnny Depp is lending his voice to the film, and Danny Elfman will be scoring.
