The Man Without Fear...
and apparently he doesn't have a very good fashion sense either.
Originally drawn in pencil then inked and colored with pens and markers. I touched it up with photoshop and used a picture I got from the internet for the background. I was originally going to color him all red, but I accidently grabbed a yellow marker. Oh well. Looks unique if anything else...

EDIT: Thanks for the suggestions Dogfood. Here's my second attempt. I'm not going for realism though, so the mouth and such don't really bother me.

Not too bad. The head is a little large and a bit too round in the cranium. Obviously it is in the comic book style, but if you would like to get better at hands and faces, study and draw from life. Get a little mirror and notice how your face looks. The mouth is rarely one solid line that is of a constant darkness.

Secondly, pick up an anatomy book for artists (Bridgeman and Civardi are pretty good) and study just how muscles work and where they are attached to the bones.

From a design standpoint, the glowing club really takes attention away from the figure and the hand doesn't stand out very much from the chest. If you were to rotate around until we were viewing more of his left side, you could set the hand more against the yellow.

The background, being of a completely different style (as you say, a photo), detracts from the overall piece. An abstract background, implying a city, would be much better.
