Thank you for your faith in my ability to use what little common sense I have, Jake. I know where you live and I have a giant box of hungry carpenter ants...
Marla, I made sure to ask because of your age. I DO NOT paint pornography, and I NEVER paint anyone that I know in a way that would be suggestive or embarrassing in any way (...except for Jake, of course...) unless I checked with them in advance. My reference to being a dirty old man was because of my age and appearance--I look like the kind of person your mum warned you about when you were six, so I made it into a permanent part of my persona. I just didn't want to scare you or make you feel uneasy.
I'm doing a series of black and white crosshatch-style drawings (CG) that are based on the US Old west (1864-1912 or so)...and I'm using the people here as my models. Of course, A big part of that era was the dance hall and balcony girls, etc., but I would definitely ask anyone in advance I included in those images, which would actually be full of cheese-cakey bustiers and ugly stockings and flamingo feathers. And definitely would not include any face that came from a "not-yet-legal-adult" even though there isn't any nudity involved. I'm also doing a series of large acrylic paintings of "Great Queens" that are actually surreal fantasy images done in traditional styles.
I collect everyone's pic that can be used as ref, but I'm not going to guarantee that you'll look exactly like you when I'm done. I just like to ask in advance because...well...it's polite.
Of course, this is probably all moot, because of my age and the amount of work I'm facing before I find all my old painting supplies. Humans don't last that long normally...
