our boy rob liefeld bailed from the seattle comicon a few hours early, so i decided to sit in on his behalf, offering suggestions on how to draw lines for no reason on people's faces and draw bigass guns under hands. pouches and zippers were more money.

"...we never die in bed. Not allowed. Something in our personalities, perhaps? Some animal urge to fight and struggle making us what we are? Unimportant. What do we have to do. Others bury their heads between the swollen teats of indulgence and gratification, piglet squirming beneath a sow for shelter...but there is no shelter...and the future is bearing down like an express train.

Blake understood. Treated it all like a joke. But he understood. He saw the cracks in society, saw the little men trying to hold it together. He saw the tru face of the twentieth century and chose to become a parody of it. No one else saw the joke that's why he was lonely.

Heard a joke once: Man goes to doctor. Says he's depressed, says life seems harsh and cruel. Says he feels all alone in a threatening world where what lies ahead is vague and uncertain. Doctor says "Treatment is simple. Great clown Pagliacci is in town tonight. Go and see him. That should pick you up. Man bursts into tears. Says 'But doctor...I am Pagliacci.' Good joke. Everyone laugh. Roll snare drum. Curtains."

"He suits the climate here. The madness, the pointless butchery. As I come to understand Vietnam and what it implies about the human condition, I also realize that few humans will permit themselves such an understanding. Blake's different. He understands perfectly...and doesn't care."

^^Story behind my new tattoo that I got today. I can relate to that quite a bit. Everything is a joke.

EDIT: Asatira, I hope you don't mind but I couldn't help myself.

Ok - here's a few pics of me

1st 2 are more recent (few months ago) the rest are from a trip to work as a volunteer at an extreme wilderness camp in the Rocky Mountains in 2005

I took half-a-gazillion pics while I was out there and got up to all sorts of antics - seriously awesome 5 months of my life!
