Cow How to develope and get better at drawing

(Not sure if this is the right place for this thread)

    Greetings fellow artists.

I, like many others, want to get better at drawing. I'm in my first year in illustration so I draw quite a lot during the day, including life drawing.

I know generally that the answer to my questions is just to keep drawing, but I wanted to ask you if there are any certain exercises, studies or something that really helped you to get better.

Also I have gotten comments that I'm too stuck in "my own style" and if anyone has ideas how it's good to shake things up and break out of what you know, that would also be great.

So I hope some of you can give me some wisdom!

You can take a look at my gallery if you want to get a feeling of where I'm at http://ameza.weebly.com/

Look through people's sketchbooks through, especially the early pages - helps to see what others are doing.
