The Art of Michelle Tolo

Hi everybody,

I guess it is about time I make my own sketchbook here on ConceptArt, after lurking around for quite some time. My name is Michelle Tolo, and I’m a 21 year old Norwegian girl who is currently studying Computer Graphic Art at the Animation Workshop in Denmark. I mostly do digital painting with Photoshop, but I'm in the process of learning 3D as well.

I will post some of my more recent work here to begin with, most of it being school assignments. I will try to be good at keeping the thread updated with both sketches, WIP’s and finished work. If you have any feedback I would love to hear it, and critical criticism is something I really appreciate.

This is the current project I'm working on at school now, called the Biped Project. We had to design a character, find a proper pose for it, and then we had to make a traditional maquette of it. Next up, we're going to make a 3D model of the character. It will be modeled in a t-pose and rigged into its proper pose in Maya, and then we will probably use Mudbox for sculpting.

Here is the concept art I did of my character, an arrogant vampire by the name Maurice. The clay maquette was made over the last 4 days, and it is aproximately 28 centimeters tall:
