You're missing the point of my question, Jfierce. Whether Brad's tone was forceful or not, the frustration of an artist not getting paid should not be mocked by the man he's reaching out to for help, and seemingly had been for some time. And if Brad was told that it was closed for discussion, that means his claim was being discounted and intentionally ignored. Which would be the opposite of what we've been presented in these responses.
No Brad was not told it was closed for discussion. Brad and I have had an up and down relationship and even though we had a tiff, I still did what I was required to do and notified the appropriate parties immediately, and followed up numerous times in writing.
I felt he was being ridiculous and unprofessional and am not too proud to admit that I could have been more professional on that day. We all have our bad days and I need to be better at not feeling disrespected and hurt when someone is attacking me when I am trying to help them.
