    Nainteins Sketchbook

Wow, ok, I finally gathered the courage to join this community of which I have heard a lot of good things.

I am a young woman recently reaching 20 years and for about 5 or more I has been drawing. And although I am happy with my creations (Now they still like me even after they have completed and published), I want to keep learning.

I apologize in advance for my English, I am Spanish-speaker and even if I read it fluently I usually don’t write much.

I guess starting a sketchbook here is no reason to reraise and saturate with all my drawings that I have already finished. So leaving here the links in my galleries DevianArt, only two, the first Nainteins: http://nainteins.deviantart.com/gallery/ and the most recently at the moment even if only has fan-art for now Dexteri: http://dexteri.deviantart.com/gallery/

-Pause to see what other people put in their introductions Sketchbooks-

Ok, I think that cover the minimum…

This digital painting is my current project, a fan work in which I am applying perspective and drawing without lines. When I finish the characters I want to improve the background, giving it a more abandoned look, especially the balance of colors.

    Have a great day!

PD: I hope that I'm uploading this in a correct manner...

I was thinking some things about my previous picture. Having to reduce the image to display here, I realized that the main elements are, and must be, very small, but they are lost in so much irrelevant background. Not acceptable since they are the main element and the bottom just does not play much of a role.

I will reduce the vertical and horizontal canvas, so the little details (A lot) could stand out more... And yet I have to work more in contrast.

A stork I made for a friend's baby shower. I did the initial sketch without reference, so I don’t know who bird are those wings... but they add a good stunning effect.

And finally yesterday I made the first 3 exercises of perspective here: http://conceptart.org/forums/showthr...erspective-101 Backgrounds, perspectives and landscapes is the current theme I'm trying to master. The first is dirty in the lines but all offer some interesting compositions that I was sincerely no expecting.

A couple of speed paintings of three weeks ago, like 20 min every one. And even if this is the real size, I work in them with the zoom out, a lot.

From what I have seen around here, I supposed that I should work them in blank and white.

Any tips to get more out of these practices?

Hello Nainteins! Congratulations on taking courage and joining the community! I think those perspective drawings are really good, and I think it is great that you are doing that kind of exercises, the same goes with the speed paintings. I also like the creature drawings in your deviant account, you should post them here too!
Keep working hard and making studies. You should check out a book called "The Art of Animal Drawing" by Ken Hultgren. It seems that you like drawing creatures, making some anatomy studies would be a great exercise.
    Good luck!

Alonsovg, thanks for taking the time to view my galleries: D, and that book, wow, looks great. When I finish with these studies of perspective I will practice those tips. Because I can draw creatures reasonably well, but I don't have looseness in more dinamics pics.

Circles in perspective, digitally I add the correct positions, 80% are correct, cool.

Now shadows exercises. I will repass those later, totally caught me off guard, I didn't know thing about shadows other than sun shadows and the first pic is a mess, and the second one I'm almost sure is wrong.

Some Loomis book studies, not much artistic merit here, I was only copying.

But I have noticed something funny in my struggle to master the human anatomy, always had problems with the hip, like, how the legs connect to the body? There are so many angles and things.

Until I discovered what I call, The panty. Blessed are those who make clothes, now when I draw I just have to locate how a panty or boxer would look in the body and, I have the general shape of what is happening down there.

I don't know if it's something new or so painfully obvious that everyone knew and no tell.

Ok, I like this one, another exercise with more interesting boxes, done while watching Gremlins, crazy awesome movie.

And I should stop using my current drawbook for complete drawings, I love it but the scanner is not big enough. I guess I can do the sketches there, but then step into another clean sheet. Yeah ok, sounds like a plan

Some of my characters, and testing drawing with blue and red pencil for the sketch, and regular pencil for finishing. So far so good.
