hey guys,
made it back from amsterdam okay. can't quite remember my name--which means i had fun. i spent a lot of time at the vrolik museum painting siamese twins and severed heads from life, which i'll post in the next few weeks. here are a few new drawings and by thursday of next week www.kevart.com will be updated with about 25 new images. a lot of the amsterdam series is still in process so check back soon. questions/comments welcome and respected.
thanks,
kev
this is a recent drawing of my girlfriend, lalena. alex alvarez, director of gnomon just acquired this drawing and also a painting of a skull lined with crimson peacock feathers from amsterdam which i'll post next week.
this is a detail of a work in progress of death feeding his children. same model from madonna's commission.
this is a commission i painted last week for trent reznor's producer in london. 8 x 10". i found this hundred year old frame in amsterdam and repainted it and scratched it to feel antique. to get the black stripes i drew on a white rose with a black sharpie. taped each petal onto a skull in my studio to get it right. painted from life.
enjoy!

I was wondering if maybe you could explain your drawing process, your finished pieces have a really nice quality to them and i was wondering how you approached a drawing and what kind of materials you use. the more i look at your work the more i wonder these things. thanks again and keep up the amazing work.
