I have a question of logic. Why are people buried on a balcony? I also wonder at the origins of the red rubble on the distant steps. If this was inspired by a dream, I suppose it doesn't matter. I really like the rodent by the way.![]()
Ahahaha yeah,good question
My answer is:use the imagination! lol
However my target wasn't a "realistic matte painting".I made this just for fun such as all my manipulations.
Yeah,it's true...I had to use logic too,but in this manipulation I didn't use it
Regarding the red rubble on the distant steps I made a mistake.
Sorry for the English
It seems kind of odd that the perspective of the woman and the building are different. Another thing is the level of detail present on the squirrel thing, and the lack of detail on the woman. It’s kind of odd.
Well, regardless, I like the piece, and I think I like it because of the flaws I've pointed out. It’s like something out of a dream because it's pretty to look at, but it just doesn't feel quite right.
A matte painting is not just mashing photos and elements together. It serves a purpose and has logic, this is just garbage. Learn to draw and paint first before you try something as complex as matte painting. The perspective is off, the scale and the lighting bad and the color and value are not considered. Where are your thumbnails and value and color comps?
The broken part of the building where the light comes in looks more like torn paper than broken walls. The figure doesn't really blend into the scene well, looks like a paper cutout. The scene overall is very very dark, and there's really no focus to the image other than the lens flare, which I probably could do without. How much of this is actually painted? Looks like it's mostly photo manip.
Tell me you at least painted the squirrel hahah.

I had to darken my room and tilt my head for five minutes untill I saw anything.
There's some sun, some leaves and the rest is darkness.
I just took a break to post this.
But sometimes I also draw stuff
