Here's an update on mines...but before that ...

@ Havok Reed..: Love her attitude..and I like what youve done with the torso armour...the leg feels alittle old-timey-sci-fi :/ but its done well...you gonna keep the little "bang" falg? XD

@ Pixeltuner: Wow! yeah thats tripping me out...hurts to lookat..but its hurts in a good way ;D anyhow I thik I spotted some perspective issues in her anatomy...but toherwise amazing as always..love the booster effect!

@ C mcgreevy: Im gonna go with number 2...I think the other two seem more like an evil general and a robot mercenary...however number 2's pose is a bit off-balance

@ Leoz: Its spacetime-tom-sawyer! I think you just coined a new sub-genre...medieval-sawyer-punk...eheh..I dont want to sound negative, but take alook at your design..does your character look like he is "spacebound"? (and for the pedants in the forum..I mean outer-space XD) even tho you have a glowy orb in his abdomen it could be seen as a magical element considering the rest of the design especially sainco you have him standing on (space) grass...hope it helps :/

@ first0: Sweet sketches! I agree with your choice of the right-most female..seems the coolest of the three..as for the dudes..I think Its alittle hard cuz they look a little fantasy-ish..but I would go with bottom-right with bottom-left's hair XD

@ IDP: Awesome start...I get that han solo at the cantina feel..great job!

@ darklogik: I agree with you..the left one is bad@ss! go with that one! ...cant wait to see it develop!

@ NickyBeats:Cool design and I really like your colours..especially in the pants...however..again i feel like the tech is a little old timey..more steampunkish..it may be all the gold/silver...but then again, it fits nicely with the style....he's got a cool smirk going! :]

@ Ded: You sir, are as good as you are fast...awesome as always...I really love your colors...

phew..sorry my hands are cramping from drawing and typing..more later! I hope no one is offended by my comments..Im trying to be constructive...feel free to return the "favor" ;D

here's mine..looks like an assassin ATM...

@Claudio Grassi: lol no I'm not keeping the bang flag. I was just playing around.

Anyway, going to go with this color scheme. Went in and "made" her hand holding the gun. Made some minor tweaks here and there. Will probably make some more minor adjustments before going full bore with it.

Lots of great submissions so far. I really enjoy seeing everyone's sketching process.

Probably jumped the gun inking this dude, but I just started inking it and was having so much fun next thing I knew I was more or less done.

    C mcgreedy - I like 1a and 3a best.

Havok Reed - great texture on the right leg, looking good so far.

Spellsword - Great colour style and design, gun fits perfectly. Always liked world war I / II type relics in sci fi stuff... it will fire lazers though, lazers, right!?!

I'll comment on others tomorrow, need sleep now.

Here are my sketches. Love the topic guys.

@panjo: I don't think the colors are meshing well. If you want to do a purple / red color scheme, you should follow the triadic color pattern. What exactly are you trying to convey with the purple cap? Is it not finished? These are questions that come to mind.

@ Havok Reed thanks for being so responsive! are the colours in the skin tones wrong? or just the (intended) jewels? The cap is simply supposed to be a sensory/information system.

I can make the skin more pale,yellow-green? and its not completely finished, wanted to get some feedback and do some touchups

She could steal, but she could not rob...

Tried to make her more sly, less giddy. Now I need her skin tone to be more alive, less plastic.

I know this is all still a WIP, so I may mention things that you already know or intend to fix.

1.) Well, I'm not entirely sure what your goal is with the skin. Right now it's borderline maroon. Play with it some more. Skin has more than one color to it, it has many.
2.) Oh those are jewels? I thought they were marbles or something. Look up some reference on precious jewels and gems and really pay attention to how they react to light as well as their shapes
3.) If that is supposed to be a special sensory helmet, you really need to work on conveying that to the viewer. Right now it looks like a cap that just blinds him. I think this is the weakest point of the whole piece so far. Keep working on it and you'll get there. And keep posting for more feedback from people.
4.) If you are still going with the holographic limbs, which I think is a neat idea, you need to convey that as well. Make them more transparent, glowy, and maybe throw in the wire frame on them. Have the holo-emitters throwing off some light too.

Well, I hope I didn't ruin your breakfast with this :b Keep at it, there is plenty of time.

Quick update before I leave for the day. A good close up at where I left off before I went to bed last night. Wish I could stay home and work on this >.<

Also, do you guys think the skin tone is too saturated? Too much yellows? Reds? Im curious because my new tablet monitor is a bit on the cool side, I may need to readjust the settings.

OH and just for shits and giggles, I tried that color mixer thingy. Very subtle with it though.

really cool works guise! can't help but try- to join :]

heres what i got. went a bit cultural. someone that hops around places; planet to planet. and could blend in well with the crowd. an expert stealth in the open; often switch acts and mash up techs and clothes to change his identity. pretty much a colorfully sly chameleon. a con artist maybe? an outlaw to outlaws. sort of

@Bozo I like 6. He looks armed to da' teff!

@tsad I like that guy. You might want to scrunch down your vertical hieght... actually I think it's just a combination of the pants and the long robo arm. I like the cowled head.

Some great entries so far all aound. My two favs at the moment:

Fez- Love your loose lines and your concept. Great start!

KJK- Cool Star Wars feel to your design. Really liking where it's going.

Here's my wip. It's still early and I don't know if I'll have time to finish due to my job, but here it is anyway. Still have to clean up his cyborg arm so that it's easier to tell that he's lighting his cigar with it.
