    Brian Mumphrey portfolio review

Hello! I haven't posted anything on these forums in a long time and even then it wasn't much, but I recently started a new portfolio and was looking for some critiques and advice on some of my current work.

I'm looking for a job in concept art design working mainly in the gaming industry but I'm also currently learning programs like Zbrush and Maya to not only help me in my 2d designs but also to eventually take my concepts a finished 3d design as well.

Some of the things I would like to work on are presentation, over all design and function, color, environments and settings and matte painting which I am looking forward to learning once I get a better feel for Maya and Zbrush integration.

Any advice and critiques are welcome and thank you in advance!

The following is a series of designs and some mock ups I did for an IOS game that is being finished up by the programmer. The in-game shots are mock ups so it will changed before released, but the menu screen and character are the same.

    Hi there,

My name is Wee Tynn, Tee and I am a student at Swinburne University undertaking a unit of study which focuses on 3D character design and modeling.

As part of my project brief, I am aim to develop an existing character concept as a 3D model to assist in expanding my awareness of good character design, and also to enhance my 3D modeling and technical skills.

This project is purely to develop my learning abilities; as such I will not be profiteering from my model or your artwork, and will be fully crediting you as the conceptual artist. The 3D model and possibly concept artwork may appear in my and the Universities showreel for promotional purposes, but again if your artwork appears you will be properly credited.

Would you agree to me referencing your concept artwork titled Engineer and Grim Bro found here http://conceptart.org/forums/portfol...io-review.html which I intend to turn into a 3D model?
If so, may I ask that you provide details of how you would like your credit to appear? An example of this could look like the below, however I am happy to include any extra details if you prefer.

    John Smith
    Concept Artist

Thank you for your time, and I hope to hear from you soon.
    Wee Tynn, Tee

Absolutely, and I really appreciate you asking me before hand. Feel free you use any of the designs you have chosen. As far as including my name you can display it as you did in the example. Here's my info:

If you have an opportunity can you post a pic on here or email me what you do? Would really enjoy seeing them fleshed out into a 3d form. Thanks again for asking!

    Sincerely
    BM

Not at this time, I'm pretty busy with the job search at the moment. It is something I should probably do anyways for the entire concept, so once I get a chance I'll update it on here.
