ROUND#290, Centurion Warrior Beast

whew... well here we are at round 290. special, because it marks the 100th round that Si_Swe and I have been writing up tropics for cow. to mark the occasion, we decided to base a round on centurions, only this will have a nice Cow twist. here goes...

you will be designing a warrior alien race. they are Extremely fierce, and well organized in battle. usually, they are born as basic foot-soldiers used as fodder for war. but one out of every 100 there is born a leader version of the species that commands its own battalion of soldiers, these leader versions (or centurions) are inherently intelligent in strategy, and are born with a special visual flair to differentiate them as the leaders they are.

in this 2 WEEK COW, you will need to design the basic warrior creatures, and the Centurion versions. make sure to remember that these 2 versions are still the same species, and should appear related, but you should also be able to easily identify them from each other.

lets make our 100 a round to remember!

Requirements this week...

- you will need to design 2 separate versions of the same species, with the centurion version having a bit more flair.

- the creatures should all have the ability to wage war biologically, meaning physical weapons that are a part of its anatomy. remember not to use any clothes, props, or weapons.

- feel free to put them in a scene together, but you can just lay them out on a design sheet if you wish.

Redesigning, I think I like this better. This is the stock creature, not sure what frills and stuff is going to be on the big guy. I'm thinking of making it more strategic instead of a big fighter version.

VegasMike; That's pretty damn awesome. My only concern would be that from this angle it's hard to see if the creature on the side is really a "lesser" creature and I'm not seeing too much of an army, though it's implied well enough. Totally love the aggressive look of the centurion though, as well as the perspective and composition you chose. It feels a little cramped around the head of the centurion but otherwise it's great !

Getting there, crits welcome.
-The grunts use their brute strength to charge and headbutt enemys to the ground, then use their tusks and hooves to gore and maim as desired.
-The Centurion is much larger, and stands on hind legs to get a view of the battle and direct troops, but charges in on all fours with the grunts. He also has deadly bone protuberances on his knuckles and elbows, and fangs that contain venom/bacteria glands like a Komodo dragon ensuring death to whatever enemy gets too close.


VegasMike- Great job, very dynamic. It's got a lot of energy, and very sinister.
