The Gas Man's suit acts as a respirator and source of "ammunition" for his gas gun, which connects to his chest plate via tube. He's almost completely machine now, aside from his healthy sense of humor, which he proudly displays to his victims before taking their lives.

Good job, guys. Very close...both are high quality works.

MrFrenik Very interesting design. It doesn't really scream out 'Gasman', and appears to be an android more than a person in some monstrous suit. This is especially true in the midriff. I like your coloring choices, though the values don't describe the light sources consistently. (For the record, I gave up on mine because it was taking me forever to render clean 'industrial' forms...you've done this nicely.) I'm not sure making the crotch a 'hot spot' is doing you any favors. The hands seem a bit small. You have some really nice detail. The weapon looks a bit simplified, like extrudes faces in a 3D program. Also, there is a perspective issue where the muzzle doesn't agree with the rest of the gun.

Lionsketch I love the design of your mask and the 'hazmat' suit approach. The values are a bit flat. I think the colors work well. A bit more detail on the suit and a more imaginative weapon would have sold him a bit better. I'm not sure how well the lion belt buckle fits the Gasman's "story", and it is out of perspective with his form. There is also a perspective issue with his faceplate/viewport.

Would you like to see my drawr-rings?

Will design for food, provided that we all agree that money is edible.

I think I misread the deadline for this one? I thought it was the 21st.

@MrFrenik, I really like the alien-y design. Though I have to agree that it doesn't inmeadetly read as a gasman. I think it's the insertion point for the gun and the eyes (or lack of ) what make it look more like an android. The gun is a little blocky IMHO, and the perspective in the tube doesn't look right (ellipses should be a bit wider). The smiley face was a cool detail though.

@Lionsketch, nice design! I like the steampunk style and the shape of the mask. I didn't vote for your entry because this design is a bit too industrial. The gasman is supposed to be an executioner. I also didn't get the lion buckle (maybe is a kind of signature?). Also, the perspective in buckle looks different than the rest of the body. The backpack could use some more detail to explain better how it's used. I loved the loose brushstrokes in the front view of the mask
"Great job guys! I love you. You're fired."

Sketchbook! Me vs Anatomy (and other things)
