Restarting my sketchbook. Its been a while since I posted, but Im ready for the critiques and suggestions.
Getting ready to go into an artschool. Improving otherwise.
Im probably going to post whenever im stuck or in a rut. But everything helps.

Something I did "really quickly".
Just a study of a random bust.
Im glad I changed some bad habits, so I got to finish this faster than I had before
The link is right there, its ok to press. Any help/advice is appreciated.
Really nice work on that bust! What kind of habits did you kill off?
gI kicked myself to make the shadows grey (first) instead of black I also chose to highlight with a light grey instead of white.
doing so made my life super easy because I could capture the midtones more accuratly than I had before, and I always had the option to add a darkershadow when I was done with the midtones.![]()

Err .. I think you mean you will not be posting when your in a rut? Pardon my grammar Nazi tendencies, but when I'm in one I can't paint or post 'till it's over =P
The bust is really good for "really quickly" (How quickly is that, anyway?) and the others look interesting also, I'd like to see more works from you!
No I definitely mean when Im stuck in a rut... Like now >.>
THE OTHER SIDE SUCKS FOR SOME STRANGE REASONNN!!( self portrait)
Wait.... Never mind... I just saw my initial sketch and its in proportion. Im pretty anal about stuff like that. (for some reason the right side looks perfect but the left is retarded....)
Really quickly means about 2 hours
I remember I did a painting which lasted 6+ hours and >.> yea.
Yea I really want to count on feedback from others to help me improve. Also I try to finish all my paintings in one day >.< (bad habit)

Nice! I thought the cut off portrait was a design choice haha anyways it looks pretty cool like that. Looking forward to seeing more
Well my internet got shut down (becuase im in charge of the bill xD) but its back, and heres some of the work I did in the meantime.
Ive seen that practice makes perfect, so a few days ago I had decided that I would digitally paint every day
I need to work on shins and feet more, the most overlooked places (to me).
Any crit would be appreciated

I keep on doing this... And I definitely see the difference.
(Im so tired, its 9 but ima keep the party going)
Slanted WIP for the teen challenge.
Some thoughts:
Ive been browsing more on the forums than I have before and what Im seeing about learning illustration in general is a little bit frightening.
I never really expected to get spoon fed, but I have to really go out and find those drawing techniques myself
So im taking the initiative (again) and buying myself some books to study from.
Im planning to go to a state school for illustration and animation (if I dont get into Cooper Union first xD) and I guess im excited that I wouldn't have to depend on the school entriely to get the skills I need to develop.
I welcome any thoughts and suggestions.

Great start here! Nothing much to say other than keep pumping work out. And do as many studies as you can stand. Nothing will push your skills further than doing studies.
Agreed.
Another study
I have no idea how long this took me. I have to get used to how photoshop works. >.> I do desperately need more studies....

New SB eh? I think it's always nice to see the full journey.
Now that hand study on the first post is sweet. More like that please.
I love that guy on the couch with the dog. Good stuff. There's a lot of character in what you do, and that's really important as far as I'm concerned.
nice quick sketches I like it a lot keep going :-)
Holy hell, I cant draw the right side of faces....
IM GOING TO FIX THAT!
I wonder why though.

:/
Well I forgot how to draw in realism, so I found out again.
I always had my brush opacity wayy too high when I tired to blend.. so
Problem partially solves.
Oh yea and the picture might be dark because I drew it on my higest brightness setting... i should fix that.
(And I see I do have an obsession with everything bald, and head turned at 3/4, I promise, I know how to draw hair!)
(the front page of CA makes me sad)

You are smashing the oranges toward the waterfall in a correct way, and I admire
how you are handling colors. You also have some very good ideas, you just keep
on going. I don’t know about the old sketchbook of yours, but as I noticed here
that you don’t have any greyscale studies. That would be my suggestion to try
to work greyscale a bit, so you could master values even more. Take care
and we will talk more later I hope.
You've got some cool stuff in here!, I'd love to see some sketches and studies from you(I'm practically a sucker for sketches
)! Anyway keep posting and I'll make sure to keep your sketchbook company
!
>>DeviantArt|SketchBook<<
YeaIll put more sketches up since they are usually not half bad.
And I will post more greyscale sounds like a good idea.
HERE YOU GUYS GET YOUR CAKE AND EAT IT TOO!
