Hello, as an artist I want to specialise in Portraiture so I foresee that my sketchbook will be mainly focused on peoples faces and skulls. I have gone through the University system and feel my skills to be lacking to achieve what i really want to. So before it's too late, I want to really master these skills and learn so much from other artists that are ahead of me. I have a fair trek ahead, so below i'm posting my starting line.
I'm posting my reference photo as well as my sketch and any colouring I do to give a clear idea of where i'm going wrong. If you have any tips or advice in structuring the face, i'm am eager to hear about them! I'm strugging with getting a good likeness...they look human which is a good start but I fall down when it's specifics. I plan to start copying the masters drawings as accurately as I can to try and help with mark making but its practising seeing whats really there that i need the most practice with. Wish me luck!
