    Hello again already

I took a pile of printing paper, put it in front of me and told myself to fill it with drawings by February
Did some 60 second poses with posemaniacs, 60 secs is really nothing but real fun nevertheless.
Really liked how nr 15 turned out .
    Afterwards sketched my tumblr wall.
    enjoy

    Hello again

    I made New sketches

I'm not used to talk on forums :s so this feels like just talking to my computer haha I guess he'll get to know me a little bit better then.
And you can play the voyeurs :p

Here it is another 50 60-sec poses and tried some 90sec poses but results are almost the same so gonna stick at doing the 60second poses.
I also tried some faces before going to bed the big one is a friend of mine and turned out ok, the child is just mega creepy D: I think I made her head too small and facial features too big but crits would be awesome!
    Pictures!

Hi, Elie. Nice start to your sketchbook! I like the building and vehicle designs in Post #1 in particular.

I enjoy your animals, too. The boar is a neat subject matter, I think... but there's something about the regularity of the bristles of hair along the jaw line that bugs me a bit. It looks like a textured brush or something (?) and I find it distracting, and taking away from the authenticity of the technique.... does that make sense? It's probably just me... and I still like the piece. Keep up the good work!

Joe777k7- your welcome! glad you like my work thx!
angieb.- Thank you for visiting and for the useful crits! Idd I made a quick 3-hairs brush and used it for most spiky looking hair, indeed in that zone I had to put another pass without the brush to hide it Thank you for pointing at it. Wouldn't of have seen it myself. Enjoy the rest!

Here's a paint from the other day, together with 2 friends we discuss a topic to make a paint about every week so we can compare the ideas etc... This week was Braveheart, take a scene you like from the movie and make a study.
This is my study -__- I hate it so much, initially I didn't want to post it at all but thats not the purpose of a sketchbook, I want to show you my fails as well

Here's some update on the project, some wips towards an illustration:

This is an idea sketch from a while ago, I wanted to ride on an eagle towards the barn:
I failed drastically on the colours and values but it gave me a quick glance on the idea.
    Name: 2012-12_Flying_Old_by_ElieVerbrugge.jpg
Views: 171
Size: 54.1 KB

The idea got stuck in my head and made me redo a couple of iterations to see if theirs nothing at all in it to be of any use for an illustration:
It's still an early wip. I'm liking the composition a little bit better, it's still not there but that's for tomorrow

    Process:
-I took some paper and drew a thumbnail of the new composition, first one without sitting on the eagle but in some trees higher up the mountain.
Then a thumb with the flying idea and a bigger one to feel emerged in the scene. And a juicy banana cause it was juicy and warm thats why

Looked up some ref and started in photoshop:
    Name: 2013-01-26_Flying_by_ElieVerbrugge_WIP02.jpg
Views: 170
Size: 349.8 KB
the eagle was too big on the canvas, it took too much attention so backed up the camera:
    Name: 2013-01-26_Flying_by_ElieVerbrugge_WIP03.jpg
Views: 170

This perpective didnt read properly so put that eagle even further and added a new one to sit on, this time smaller with only the head and shoulders visible:

EDIT: apparently it just took some time to be accepted :p I feel such a noob
I had a wonderful day with my granny today, enjoyed it thoroughly.
Here are some sketches from this evening:
10-15 mins each relaxed, Its really hard to keep the volume and form consistent throughout different poses :/

    Hey there, back home!
    This is from yesterday:
I opened an anatomy book and read about heads and proportions before trying 2 kids heads again, previous one was soooo creepy :U
There's some improvement so I'm glad, more tomorrow!

    This is from today:
I put some stuff next to me and analysed the material, and form, I wanted to prevent me from trying to copy what I see but actually analyse what I see, thus the skinswaps. Fun exercise painting my drunk banana wearing oranges suit

    Moar stuff:
After watching Stan proko's videos on how to draw human faces I learned a lot but still need the practice as you can see:

Really nice work! I love the self-portrait and the braveheart painting, as well at the personal project. I think your portraits are cool but there's a lot of overlapping lines and second guessing that isn't there in your figure drawings. I think when you spend a long time on something you stiffen up and lose that fluidity. I've found that doing studies/everything with an unforgiving pen (not a ballpoint basically) really helps eliminate that tendency. You can't overlap/fuzz around and have a readable drawing. Its really help me, you might wanna try it too. :3

Yay back from an awesome trip!
It snowed every day except for 1 morning when the sun came out to shine on the beautiful mountains.
Currently going trough and adjusting the photos I took there to post them on my website, I'll give a sign here when they're up.
It's been busy and exhausting days my legs and knees are still stiff from all the walking nevertheless I ended up drawing here and there.
    here comes the drop:

    Moar noses!!
Maybe it's already been seen but I'm doing series of 100 times a specific part of the face to give it time to analyse and get used to the forms and variables.
I feel like a nose freak; observing everything with a nose like a maniac D:

Posting daily is really hard, especially not having a scanner at hand all the time.
I've created the good habit to draw daily which has become no problem at all.
yesterday I had to bring my gf to the hospital and while waiting for her there were very kind ppls sitting still and modelling for me until they busted me staring at them and moving my hand over a piece of paper :p
there was a tv in the room, this helped a lot for holding them still

Pray with us for good weather
See you in a few weeks!
