    thebestwes' stuff

I hope I'm not committing a big faux pas by making one of these already, as I just signed up a few hours ago. I'm hoping to use this as a way to keep myself creating new content. I'd love to hear what people think of my work, and I'd especially love any critique or advice anyone can offer. Anyway, here's some of my recent work.

Probably my first figure drawing that took more than 45 mins or so. This was a 3 hour study. Yeah, I'm a noob lol.

Prolly my second or third legit figure study? This was done at The Southern Atelier

Did this one recently to try and push my colors. Didn't do to well in that respect, but I liked it overall.

EDIT: Did some more work on the apple; updated the image accordingly. I painted this apple today. I'd really like some crit on it if at all possible. Something's off with it and I'm not sure what. Maybe everything is too saturated and it's causing a sensory overload? I'm not sure. I'd love to hear people's thoughts!

Welcome to CA! I think the only faux pas here is to NOT upload any work, so you're certainly on the right track. No major crits from me at the moment other than I'd love to see some finished work from you! Keep posting and working hard, man.

A great start to your sketchbook! It's great to see you're trying a variety of different things and trying to push yourself, I could do with more variety in my work if I'm honest! While all of your landscape studies are great so far, one thing you could do is along with your studies is work on one and get it more poished or finished, if you understand what I mean by that! I think it'd be good for you to attempt a more finished landscape, but it's great that you've started out by blocking in the main shapes and areas of the landscapes instead of being caught up in details, you're doing it right!
    Keep up the good work

Thanks for stopping by my sketchbook! Thanks for the advice! Getting my work more polished up is definitely something I need to work harder on, although seeing other people point it out makes it easier to do, haha. I'll definitely keep that in mind.
