I'm glad you're enjoying it
So updates have been a little few and far between this week.
I finally had time do do the basic colors yesterday, then today I started on the rendering.

I really like your rendering, you choose interesting colors and have great resultIt's a really nice to follow your steps-by-steps, can't wait the final result !
I'm glad you're enjoying it
Here's another update pretty close to being done with the first picture.

Okay, so this marks the end of week 4. A very close to finished first picture. If I have time later I'll add some more stuff and tweak it a bit but for now it's done
![]()
Very nice !
Looking at this one, I just found you lost a little the orange value you have on the thumbmail for the road, that was nice to lead the eyes from the little guy to the dragonthat's my only "concern".
I see what you mean, I'll try to get some of that back in there.
Thanks![]()
Okay, so I'm halfway through week 5. Had a few issues with this picture, both in terms of composition and color. But I think I've found a solution I'm somewhat happy with. Can't be happy with everything
![]()
What was bothering you ? The only little issue I can find with the first pictures are the mountain/horizon meeting the wave at an angle formed by the land the "end" of each element. (not sure I'm understandable sorry ^^") I really like the last one, maybe you can tilt it a little to push more the movement direction caused by the wave ?
The composition was drawing your attention to the wrong thing.
I'll try that thanks![]()
Still working on the second picture. Have to finish it this week, but it’s manageable
![]()
Just needed a little break from the backgorunds, so here are some more of the animals
![]()
Okay I think I’m nearing completion on this piece. Still need to work a little with the composition and tweak some of the colors.

Hello.
This new one is working out nicely, but I'm not sure why you dropped your initial composition in favor of this one. I thought even the brown initial sketch looked really well composed and I loved it personally. Didn't see a problem with it at all.
As for the underwater dragon, it is great, but I just want to see a bigger glow around the jellyfish character like you had in this greyscale. I also like how the beak is lighter then the "beard", which brings it forward and makes sense. But in the final rendering the orange beard is lighter then the green beak which I don't find attractive. I would of reversed the colors scheme of the dragons head and made the beak light orange, and the beard green.

The problem with the other composition was the wave. I circled around a fish that wasn't supposed to be in focus and I couldn't make it work the way I wanted it to.
You're totally right with the dragon, and good idea with the light around the jellyfish
So holiday has caused a lack of updates, but here's the second picture.
More stuff will come next week

Currently working on a little update for it but for now here are some creatures

New picture started

Update of the day, unfortunately a very busy day so not much has happened yet. Trying to play with the mood of the colors at the moment and get a feel for the composition

Todays efforts.
Just refining stuff mostly focused on the lower half of the picture, tomorrow will be the upper part

hmm... I think the simplicity in the rocks color in the previous image was better. Now you have a mix a very different tones everywhere in the wall and that create a messy effect. You maybe should keep some part of it with more uniform value/colors to avoid distractions for the viewer's eyes. Also, you had differents rocks size previously and now they all have the same, I think it could be better to keep that too, for the lighting and to avoid "sparkle lighted surface" all over
Anyway, I think this one is one of my favourite piece from you, really nice mood in it !
I see you point. I'll try it thanks
Didn't have time to post my update yesterday, so here it is today
![]()
Okay.. third picture done
I think I might put in some more monkeys later on if there is time. I'd also like to touch up the rocks.. well let's see what happens
I haven't really had time to do anything about the rocks Griffonnage, sorryI hope to get to that a little later
On to the next one.

Honestly with the little ray of light and the overall image now detailled it's less confusing.
I think that still can be interesting to do some test later. In my opinion the light on the wall rock catchs too much attention on the center of the image and steals attention from the little monkey. It's between the two characters so the eyes go to one and another, it's not totaly breaking your composition. But it's just not as instant as it could be, if you compare it to your initial thumbmail where you clearly did a separation between one character and another using the lighting.
At least, you can light some more stones to lead directly from the backlighted monkey to the little hero, if you run out of time to work on the wall![]()
I think the project is going very well. Last picture is the best one so far.
@ Griffonnage
That's a great idea thanks, I'll try to get around to that when I go through them a the end of the project
@ keremcantarhan
Thanks, glad you like it
Next picture
Just getting a feel for the colors. Went with another composition than in my original thumbnail so I had to test out some things, hence the late update

I love coming back here and see it progress.
