Hello! I'm Rachel, AKA Elbourne, AKA Fiwen... I have a passion for fantasy art, and started taking digital painting seriously about a year ago. This is where I'll post my finished work, and I am ALWAYS looking for constructive criticism! I have a long way to go!

So, let's start out with some of my recent stuff... Most of these are done while looking at a reference image, but otherwise from scratch in Photoshop. :)

Get "Figure Drawing for All It's Worth" by Loomis, and practice life drawing in pencil for a few months. Pay especial attention to the planes, and overall anatomy.

More usefully: you've got a good eye for seeing the large masses, but your sense of edges and contours really needs some work. For the next one, you might want to try getting the linework as tight as possible, before you start painting or shading. As Arenhaus notes, an actual physical pencil is a much better tool for this than a tablet. You can always scan the pencil drawing and paint over it.
