I dont know what to do with this now, I think i have a decent enough grasp on values. It could be laughable but meh . Art instruction from a wise old artist would be greatly appreciated

Id like to klnow where to go from the value study part of this.

Go darker . Add blacks and darks, they add to the image, not take away

Alex.Zelenski - yeah I try to dodge using more darker and brighter tones as I can never blend them properly , they always end up like black directly against white.
Il have to do more values studies and do it.

Kawauchi - Ill attempt A skull study next time and use it as reference thanks

defenitely need to push your values! avoiding it is really bad practice.
try to blend by using a low opacity brush, and going between the two tones placing lots of strokes.

I also tend to fear the darks. It helps me if I make one of these

on the side of my paper so I can see what values I'm falling short of.

You might also want to do some studies with traditional media, where you can manipulate values somewhat more immediately instead of fussing with dodge and blend and whatnot.

they go in order of old to new but it seems to me that im going backwards.

I can't quite tell what form the squiggly one in here is:
    But it's a cool exercise!

    Keep experimenting with those forms.
If I may suggest, check out this book, it may give you a hand with your perspective drawing http://www.alexhays.com/loomis/Andre...%20Drawing.pdf

Did these pages today on my new sketchbook.
Hopefully these will show up better than the Moleskine one that i have been using prior.
The dogs were drawn from life and the heads drawn from memory...which is pretty obvious considering how crappy they are.
I cant seem to capture character in my drawings, i can get down the very basic head structure but when i sketch someone it never ends up looking like them, maybe if there age was doubled and hit with a brick. a very hard brick at that.
