    Ju's Photos [updated March 31, 2005]

Most of these are pretty random and spread among the past couple of months. I use a Nikon F100(which I love) and a pretty crappy sigma lens(which I hate). I also own and use regularly, though not on any of these pictures, an old Canon AE-1 and an assortment of lenses. It too puts out an excellent image. You'd never be able to tell it's about 28 years old. I'm thinking about buying a D70 but I have one little problem--I'm broke. All of these were scanned using a Hp Scanjet TMA film adapter for a flatbed scanner. It works pretty well. These are some of my older pictures, but they are all recently scanned. Comments, suggestions, and crits are always welcome....enjoy!

I like all photos very much! Great stuff!

Both are striking and it's difficult to choose but in my opinion the
second (sepia) seems to me more romantic.
    The cat is also cool!

yeah man....keep em coming....the first i love, don`t you just love cracking a photo off subject.....that first one has the subject to the right, not center, but you`re still drawn to it.....and i`ve always wanted to take photos with that slight angle......just tangles with your brain a little

    Attack Cat

Meet my cat Silas. He's a nice cat. A nice cat that likes to bite you through the lawn chair holes; right on the ass. I caught him in the act this time-before he bite me.

    {UPDATE! LOOK LOOK: I was looking at this picture earlier today trying to figure out how I got that good of contrast and I remember, and I think it should be mentioned for all those that are into blackandwhite photography...A red filter...I bumps contrast to some wicked sick levels...it's great for things like statues, clouds, and landscapes(desert especially). Yellow Orange and Red are the three big ones for contrast in assending order. I forgot that I even had one(well actually I have all three)...now I'm excited! MORE B&W!}

haha...Yeah, he's a great cat. He loves to bite though never hard. And no he doesn't wear a silice like silas, he's always naked. I have lots of pictures of him so I'm sure that you will be seeing more of him.

I had some free time today to scan some portraits that I've taken this year. I really like doing portraits but no one ever wants to pose. Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me? Most of the time I wait until the aren't looking to take the shot, or until they forget that I'm there with the camera. lol Well here they are.

Thanks Ya'll! You two seem to be my bestest fans...lol
Deco: I took that picture at the San Antonio(texas) Zoo from behind a very large wall...
Krispee: You know suprisingly I have had a pretty fair amount of things to take pictures of lately. I guess that the chance for a great picture is always there, you just have to be ready and know where to look. Chance has a fair amount to do with it as well. Oh, and that lady is my mother. We've been around each other a lot this summer so she has been deemed subject#1.

Well, believe it or not, I have some more to post today...just few this time. nothing major.

Ah yes, I've suspected that it's a bear from ZOO otherwise it's quite
bravely to take the photo if bear like this is in front of you.

I really like your photos! Photography is my weakness although
I'm not professional. I'm always happy to look at professional photos!

    The new B&W are great!

'Professional photos'...Man, that's quite a compliment! wow. I really wish I could tell you that I was professional, but It's actually more of a hobby. I would love to make a profession out of it, but I like being able to pay bills and eating meals that do not consist of beans and Cup-o-Noodles. You know what I mean? Anyways, thanks Deco. You made my day.

I have two other, dare I say, quasi-professional photo's for ya'll today. I've been doing a lot of studying for my Physics 2 course lately so, naturally, I made a photo assignment out of it. These are untouched in photoshop (accept for the borders). More and more of my new stuff has been straight from the film...which is a really really good thing to say, at least for me.
    ...at study...

    ...at dinner...

Deco: that's only the study guide--you should see the textbook!
I took these a couple of months ago before the rains came. The creek dwon by a trail I bike on was dried but for a small pond that all the animals had been coming to for past several months from the looks of things. There were literally thousands of tracks left in the hardened mud. It was really quiet amazing. I should have shot an entire roll there, but I only shot these four...live and learn I 'spose.

This is a Catidad (member of the locus-loudascrap family) and it is leaving its old beatle body and speading it's wings for the first time. This sequence took about 2hours start to finish before the bug's exoskeleton hardened and he was able to defend itself from me and fly off. But I don't think it was scared of me becuase I saved it's life from my barking biting dog. And I guarded it. it returned the favor with these great pix. Enjoy guys...

did I mention how gnarly that is?! can you explain that bug and what's going on? I find myself getting closer and closer to see what's going on, but then being totally grossed out.. and I mean that as a compliment. very cool sequence shots..

what kind of camera do you use?

Nice shot on that hyena, reminds me of old how to draw animal books.
