Question Need help on skin shadow color

Hey everyone. I need help getting the shadows on my character's skin the right color, and would appreciate any crits on the shading form or the gold rings she is wearing as well
I have been experamenting with the shading technique that my two idols in illustration use, which is erasing out the highlights from a multipy layer. It works well for most things, but seems to not work as well on skin. Or maybe it is just that, despite being told to shade in purple or blues, those colors look a bit odd on the skin when I do them. Can anyone help?

Made the shadows darker and a different color. It is subtle, but I am more pleased with it
and it doesnt look like she has a ribcage bruise anymore

There's a lot of problems with everything in this, starting from the anatomy to the form and colours overall, but for the lighting I'd ask, what even is your light source? The environment seems to be this dark velvet (but none of those colours then affect the shadow colours, though in reality they'd probably bounce some colour) but the light on the character doesn't reach the walls, but the character is lit pretty clearly to the point that the fire doesn't give almost any light at all, nor does the fail give any light good light to the body, but the wall next to it is lit blue?
Do you even need a full frontal flashlight in her face from the story standpoint?

It's a nice character. Short, simple answer though is you just need to buckle down and study fundamental drawing principles...from composition on up. You'll learn more at the start using traditional materials and focusing on solid observation.
    What would Caravaggio do?

Alright. I wanted to rework it anyways.
Does this have better anatomy, or if not, what needs to be fixed?

I'm sorry. That doesnt tell me much. What it is about my approach that I am doing wrong? sketching digitally? the way of creating the body shapes that my classes have taught me? (And if so, what would you recommend?)

Well, I mentioned it in the first post...the study of basic drawing fudamentals, initially based on observation, using traditional media.

I would recommend two excellent books that go well together: "Drawing Essentials" by Deborah Rockman and "Imaginitive Realism" by James Gurney. A third recommendation which will help with compsition theory is Jack Hamm's "Drawing Scenery".
