I'm putting together a 24 Hour Comics Day in Dijon, FRANCE.

What is a 24 Hour Comics Day, you ask? Why, simplicity itself, my dear Watson. A 24HCD is a personal challenge for an artist to make a 24-page comic book in 24 hours. It's completely non-comptetive. There no winners, no losers, no prizes, and no medals.

The challenge is hardly limited to professionals. We seek beginners and pros alike. The only goal is to express yourself as you can.

The 24HCD will be held April 23-24 all over the world, but this one is the first and only in Europe.

We're looking for artists who would like to take on this original challenge. We also need people who would like to help promote the 24HCD. How to do this? Easy: if you think it's a good idea, talk about it! Seeing as it's the first one in Europe, we could easily have tens or even a hundred artists. We've already got a several foreign artists. With word of mouth, the sky's the limit!

Dijon isn't at all far from Switzerland, for example only 2h30 from Geneva. Distance is not an excuse!

ähm, wa d schuel abelangt, da isch relativ e... trurigi sach.
I ha im 2004/2005 in Basel de Vorkurs gmacht, bi relativ locker und fröhlich det ine, ich bi ebe sit johre scho uf em netz aktiv, meischtens im Furry Fandom (will i a die Fantasy Cons i de USA nid anechum) und i i vo mehrere Lehrer me oder weniger nach em Motto "Fantasy isch schlächt und i würs nid e zweits mol aluege" und "es isch schlächt wenn du es ross ohni vorlag mole chasch und es nid vo google usdrucksch und uf em liechttisch abpausisch" und" die linie do isch FANTASY, halbi note abzug" und " dini werk sind so chli angschtiflössend, so wie de Giger oder " die Abalone muschle wo du mit farb abzeichnet hesch , das bild isch vel zu sehr vo dem, eh, Fäntäsy, weisch do regebogefarbig" "Graustufe im zeichne wird vel zu sehr überbwertet, mi mache da so wenig wie möglich" "wenn er e spannends bild findet tües i photishop u mache e filter drüber, da isch mega coool" "Du hesch e PC laptop? mein gott, da hilf i aber nid, I weiss überhaupt nid wie i de astell"...

mini mitschüel sind immer mega hinder mer gstande, vor allem will mi das mit de Fantasy linie. Will, die wo mir das gsi sind sind LEHRER GSI.
Neb em wehtue hend mer die lüt au fasch leid ta, dem mit em Giger het i am liebschte e neui brülle gschenkt, oder grad e neui hirnhölfti.
Vo dem augeblick a, woni gseh ha wie si au bi andere so drighacket hend und wie si aktzeichne/abzeichne/skizziere(zumindescht a dere schuel) hani mir gschwore i wot degege kämpfe, wil es het mer sehr weh to, mängisch hani scho z gfühl gha i wir no so wie si, e paar vo de lehrer sind so richtig uf persöhnlichi rache us gsi.
Drum bin ich jetzt a de HGKZ und mache d usbildig för vermittelndi kunscht. Wennis denn mol schaffe wil si immer no ke ahnig hend was sie mit eus mached wegem Bologna und so.
Im Verglich zum Vorkurs schwige ich a de HGKZ. I bi jetzt einehalb johr det und es weiss e kei Lehrer vo mim Privatlebe, weder erwähnt no irgendeswie ibezoge i e projekt.

ich cha nid säge dass i vel a de HGKZ lerne, so sache wie grundlage sind mega abequetscht uf eiwuche Modul, wenn mer es schafft si izschribe, meischtens simmer eifach a eusne projekt. Mi hend zwar Gipse, Tone, Final Cut und jetzt Farbiges Liecht (Ulrich Bachmann) glernt, aber DIE Grundlage, nope. Es isch zum Teil erschreckend gsi, mi hend letsch Jorh e Modul gha wo d Lehrer gseit hend: ihr hocke jetzt do am Tisch, maled s zimmer mit de Tisch vor eu ab.
Vo 18 Schüeler hets bi zweine e so usgseh wie.. zimmer mit tisch. s gliche mit Graustufe Bilder.
Ich meine, tuet mir leid, aber isch da wichtig oder nid wichtig? för mich isch da e grundlag. Me cha nacher abstrahiere und formetanz mache so vel mer will.

Es sind alles immer no liebi lüt wo au ihri begabige hend, i wot si nid beleidige.
Aber wenni säge müesst i bi glückli o müesst i lüge.

I ha ghört das Basel LBK e bitz besser isch, wenn au chaotischer als bi eus angeblich. Vo Luzern hani no mega guets ghört, ha mer scho überleit ob i sell wächsle, aber für die 1.5 johr, schaffi au no. wenni nid z vel dro denke denn gohts, u i probier mi au na selber chli z traniere.

hey dudes and dudettes! this thread seems to have gone to sleep since the new year, but i just wanted to say hey. i just moved to zurich for a bit, my parents live here and im staying with them in between jobs. anyway, i wanted to see if anybody was around for meeting up to sketch or whatnot. i also don't speak german or swiss-german yet, but i must learn. anyway, hope everybody in switzerland is doing ok, and hope to meet some of y'all soon. take care! ^_^
