hey! i ended up doing some super fun sketches last night! they're not much, but to me they represent the thing i've gotten the most enjoyment out of my art in a long time.

body poses for a character! emotion and action and adjective practice with the body!

this guy was fun, timing myself on digital sketching. no reference used, and i need some critique on the pose. clothing weight and limb weight/dimention is something i struggle with frequently u _u thanks!

about 40% through a commission, decided to do speedpainting and shadowing... my strength is in lines, sketches and inks... not sure this was a good idea, but thoughts? critique?

I love your expression and story telling with your posing.

Also love that in post 33 you added muscles for the extra arms and the way you have the guy move. It's always odd looking when people just draw 4-6 arms that move with magic and are weightless.

Jared D: thank you! i try to pull as much energy into expressing emotion and story into my art as possible. the real intrigue behind art, concept and otherwise for me, is when i start asking "ok so what does this cool person/creature/thing DO in their story? what is their purpose?"

and yes, unless a creature is exclusively like... ether or ethereal magic, it bothers me if the muscle/anatomy construction doesn't make at least some sort of pseudo-sense :o

a melting giraffe and some glyphs. i've been putting down abstract glyphs that come sometimes when i doodle. tso far they're fun, interpret what you will. i just like the simplicity of them. these are newer ones. maybe i'll upload my older ones some other time.

posting some content: a gremlin with the drafting pencil in Corel 12. i love that program, but theres TOO MANY TOOLS i'm so inexperienced in using everything except ink and pencil ahaaaa~ also it gives my laptop processor a run for its money

Really enjoying your figures =] I would try to lean them up a little though, try just using one confident line for each stroke. Keep up the hard work!

good that you practice gestures and imagination type stuff,balance that with life studies and exercises that will help you see form.
also perspective studies would really help you in the long run.
keep it up.

GrayPersona:thanks, I try to make sure i don't only fall into one category or the other. i've neglected som etrue perspective studies simply because i don't have the time or the set-up right now to devote to a long-term one. thank you though!
