    The Book of Tyn

Hey guys, new here. been wanting to keep a sketchbook here to keep me on track. I'm 23 and have been drawing (very lazy like) for about 2 years. This first stuff is my attempt at hatching. I wanna see how far I can go. You're welcome to watch.

Sweet, thanks WHite camel and Mepainter, sorry the replies took so long.

I've been drawing constantly, mostly doodling. I should probably start on some studies though, right? I did these in the last week. Damn, I really need to do some more studies.

We can feel volumes, it's in my opinion the most important thing to understand. I worked a lot outlines at the beginning and it is in my opinion the first exercice which help me a lot to improve...to take care of the good direction of lines, proportions. I thought to volumes after several months when i had a better way to construct outlines.

Nice figures. Did you ever pick up hatching and crosshatching again?

malacandrax: Yeah, I'll try to keep posting. Also I know about sinix. found out about him a while back.

More life drawing and a 3 hour long value study, again.

I think I'm getting better with blending smooth tone. Guess I should do that more often. I recently read somewhere that long studies really help. So, from now on I'm going to do more studies that are at least 1 hour long.

wow this is really good stuff, i really love the line work i was practicing heads last night looking at your work, very inspirational, especially how you indicate the eyes without too many lines.

Gul: Hey, thanks. It is good that you are practicing, but you shouldn't use me as guide. I'm still learning, like you! As for the eyes, just remember that when drawing you never outline the eyes and the lips. Use disconnected lines. People will just automatically fill in the rest.

Sundry Addams: heh, thanks, but they're still pretty bad. I have a while to go.

argaelie: Style? I didn't even realize I had one. Thanks though. I like that way you paint.

Here's what I did today. One or two of those are a day or so old and are from my sketch book.
