Hello. My name's Daria, I'm 17 years old and I want to be a good artist, so I came here for good advice and critiques.
I'm not awesome at drawing, but... I want to improve, I want to hone my skills. So, I will post my sketches and works here from now.

P.S. English is not my native language, so though my language level is "advanced", I still make mistakes sometimes. Sorry.

Hey Daria, welcome to CA. Your lines are great, and I can recognize a few Pokemon there. Haxorus is one of my favourites from black/white. You are very good for your age, and it seems you have the desire to take your art further, as well.

The replies may seem very little at the beginning, but keep updating the sketchbook. Interact with the people on the forum, and I'm sure you'll receive good feedback before long.

Thanks Vritra, glad my sketches are not that bad! I hope this forum helps me to improve, because some forum members' sketchbooks are really inspiring and I hope the same thing will happen to my art someday.
And of course, I'll keep updating this sketchbook.

Thanks PolarPear! Glad you like my designs. Myself, I'm in love with that cat-caterpillar-creature, because it came to my mind by accident and it's pleasant to draw it.

A self-portrait attempt that I did today.
I tried to remember my face (so no reference used)...
Well it resembles me, but I look much older here (like I'm going to look like in 25 years or so).
Next time I'll use a mirror.

Also, my recent work from art college. That guy was asymmetric himself, so it looks even more ugly in my version. Uh. Sorry for the crappy image. I'll upload a better one in December.

Your sketches are nice, they are so girly and pretty. I like that sense of Russian fairy tale in them. Last guy I think was difficult to draw - academical drawings are always looking so serious. Self-portrait is very solid

Thanks ill_Buny! Maybe they really have a bit of Russian fairytale polish in them, just because I'm Russian myself.

Also, a figure practice. Photo references. Numbers near figures show the time spent, 0.30 - 30 seconds, 1 and 5 - 1 min and 5 min respectively.
The last 6.30 one came out awful.

A quick scenery from memory and impression. It's snowy everywhere now, so this morning was quite beautiful. Perspective is awful, but the main goal were atmosphere and colors. Any critique please?

Also, a commissioned custom Ngaanga (my own species). Some people love this species and wanted to have custom ones.
Colors were picked by the commissioner, not by me.

Yes, 17 years old. I'd love to become an illustrator or work with some kind of game company or maybe board game company etc, I hope my dream comes true.

This is a great start, and I agree with everyone else that says that you're miles ahead of most of us when we were 17 yrs. old. It looks as though you've had some study in perspective, which is great, so I'd say that you should add more construction to your drawings. Even if they're stylized they suffer without some since of believability to them. All in all, keep up the good work.

Thanks for the comment MrFrenik! I'm studying construction, I just use it not every time I draw. Lazyness? Yes, lazyness... that's my main problem. But I'll try to construct everything from now!

By the way, a humble birthday gift I just made. I know that the moon plot is banal, yes. They're sitting on a pile of pillows.

I really dig your original characters! Keep refining your own voice and attitude; it's easy to lose yourself in the academic grind and produce nothing but "serious" (and generally boring) artwork!
