ordinances against life drawing classes

There have been several articles on this topic. Most recently was in the L.A. Times entitled "A drawing class -- or adults-only fare?". I've been told Long Beach, parts Santa Monica, and L.A. are implementing these ordinaces.

"City offices are saying that life drawing classes which charge a fee for service are considered to be adult entertainment. Adult entertainment venues are strictly forbidden without a city permit. Even with proper permits most life drawing classes are closed down because many are in close proximity to residential property which is forbidden by law for business of adult entertainment."

Okay, there were just 3 ants crawlong on my PC desk. I just slayed them all with an exact-o knife....AKSDHFHF!!! I feel them all over me!!! Great, now I'm going to looking for ants for a week because i found a family of them.

Anyway, that just shows how stupid the city offices are. "Adult entertainment" is like looking at porno and going to strip clubs. Just because there is nudity involved, doesn't make it "Adult Entertainment". Are movies considered "Adult Entertainment" because some of them show nudity? No, and there are plenty of theaters near residential areas.

Also, I've never been to a life drawing class, but is it really entertaining?

Hehe, gonna have take those life drawing classes "underground". Out behind seedy bars, maybe hiring "escorts" to pose for a bunch of artists with their sweat-stained sketchbooks full of "contraband" material, always looking around nervously at the sound of distant sirens. i mean... how did you get around being born naked and therefore being declared adult entertainment at birth?

and how much of an adult entertainment fee do the nurses and docs at a baby clinic have to pay? i mean... they will look onto spread wide vaginas and naked babies all day long O_o (those sick fucks!)
im sure they get some kind of flat rate...

Being confronted with such idiocy is one of the few occasions when i'm glad to live in germany, where nudity is considered to be a normal natural thing.

This is only for the Long Beach area.

A fellow artist I know use to teach figure painting in the Valley (L.A. County). Someone complained about the class until the city fined him. This happened a couple years ago. I never gave it any thought until recently.
