Angry Scratch drawing of a dog in field (HORRIBLY STUCK!)

Long time doodler; first time poster.
Scratch art isn't my forte, but this is a commission piece so I don't have the luxury to change mediums or drop it. I feel like I lost my sense of direction -too much detail in the grass and fur, negative space is ugly (thinking of fixing that with clouds), and I can't achieve atmospheric perspective on the tree because the becomes busy itself after removing the black. Tried fixing these problems several times, but the white clay is starting to wear out and difficult to cut. I just need a comment or two to push me in the right direction with this drawing. Thank you so very much with the help.

Can't see your image. I suggest you try uploading it again. Or use a Photobucket etc.

Making a good first impression on the first day! I don't know what happened to the post; sorry chums.

Repeating what I said in the first place -I was commissioned to do a scratch drawing of a dog. Scratch drawing isn't my forte, and I feel like I'm losing focus of the drawing. The negative space is ugly (thinking of fixing that with clouds), grass and the fur looks too busy, and I can't achieve atmospheric perspective on the tree because removing the black makes the picture all the more busy. I've tried fixing the problem spaces several times, but the white clay is wearing out and becoming difficult to make clean scratches. I just need a couple of comments to help me get back on track. Danke sehr for the help!

Well isn't this just swell for first impressions. Apparently, according to the Support forum, I have to make a certain number of non-image posts before I can post pictures. Is protection from bots. Evil spam bots.
