@xDrawnxtoxDeathx - I got my Itoya at Opus, my local art supply chain. And it's not exactly a cheap store (neither is it particularly expensive, either). So, shop around a bit, I guess, or check out online stores. Or mayhaps you'll get in and won't have to worry about it!

Edit: checked opus online they have em for about $8 but wanna charge $25 to ship to ontario... I've got a friend in kelowna hoping she can get one for me

@xDrawnxtoxDeathx Curry's in Ontario carries them, there's one right near Sheridan as well as the city I live in and a bunch of other places, and I don't think they're too expensive. I bought an 11x17 one for 16.95, and they go as low as 8.59

I bought my 18 x 24 itoya portfolio book on kijiji for $30.00 so I guess you can say I got pretty lucky ~~

I've noticed that a lot of animation students over at Sheridan seem to start a blog, I was really curious as to whether or not all you guys will be starting one up and whether or not it will be a newly created one just showing off your stuff over at the animation program along with your personal artwork? I was planning to still keep my sketchbook alive(although I am wondering if I'd have the time to) as well as create a whole new blog for Sheridan.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to keep up my sketchbook. I recently bought my own website for art stuff though so if I can get that set up I'll probably use that to show off the best from the program and my personal work too. :d

I heard taht one of the sheridan teachers pretty much tells everyone that they have to have a blog or they won't get anywhere in the industry. And that's why everyone has one.

I posted in here briefly once before and lurked for a while since then... It's really interesting to see other people's portfolios and their approach to some of the requirements! A lot of people at the school were hesitant to show off their portfolio, either because they weren't confident in their work or because they were really secretive, lol.

Hello everyone! I'm one of the lurkers and I finally put up my portfolio and made an account on here so I can share it.

Now, stupid me, I've known about this since last summer and honestly waited until Friday March 22 to really start. (I had kind of started here and there before but nothing major)
So this is my portfolio rushed into 3.5 days. Hahahaa. I originally applied 3 years ago when I was in Grade 12 but never ended up going to the interview (I had so many at the time) and back then we got notified by mail when it was, and it was mid to late March. So I thought I still had time. -_-"
So I called Sheridan, getting super worried, and figured out I had to sign up online.

ANYWAY, reading this thread helped a lot, so thank you all.

I'll come back and let everyone know my score when I get it back!

For the gaming session is it possible if you guys could move back the timing or forward because I have to do something on saturday(which is friday for you guys) and I could probably join in like 8hrs later. Unless it maybe possible to shift it to the afternoon or morning on friday?

Sorry not interviews! I just have a bad habit of saying that (when I applied 3 years ago, all my other ones were portfolio interviews, so until recently of course, I thought Sheridan was the same.)

I am free on thursday, friday, and saturday I just can't attend at that particular time on your friday(saturday for me) because I need to do something quick at school and come back in the morning. so I am not free from 3pm friday(GMT -5) to 2am saturday(GMT -5) time zone thing is so annoying!

There is conflicting information out there regarding the time we find out about wether we get accepted or not. On this thread it says end of March, early April. Sheridanritualsacrifice just said mid April, beginning of May. Does anyone else have any info about this?

That tumblr is talking about the acceptance letter (and probably was outside of Toronto). End of march is what the coordinator said but it does vary.

Though I suppose you're looking for someone else opinion on this.

I'm just gonna quote this so it doesn't disappear. Welcome! Hmm, quick look at your portfolio. Your storyboard in my opinion is the strongest (direct and readable story) but there are slight perspective issues. When you're distorting (last panel) it feels like he's leaning. You can see this abit in your room drawing with the desk. Your character is stronger too, but feels imbalanced in the side view.
