Really good work. I love your drawings of girls.
Really good work. I love your drawings of girls.
@Cojac I love drawing thembut yeah thanks : D
Some quick poses from mind and a semi-quick environment with some random character in it. Yeah it pretty much sucks, so I definitely need to practise a lot more on environments. AAAAHH needs to study more : /
Thanks for looking : P

Hi, thank you for stopping by my sb. I'm a tradicional artist trying to create from imagination. Right now it has been really difficult. I don't know how to start painting from my mind. If you have any tip to share. I thank you a lot.
great updates! last post especially!
neat stuff man, i love your sense of light, carry on.
SketchBook <--[HELP THIS LAD IMPROVE, GO C&C]
@kevin_ Thanks a bunch : ) I'm having a little trouble with environments, but I quess that one is okay.
@Artful_Stool Thank you! It's not long ago that I sucked with light and shadow, so it's cool to hear that : )
So yeah, some studies from today and one really quick one from imagination. I'm much worse with environments than with characters, so I thought I oughta tackle that problem immediately and start doing more environment studies. Hopefully it will pay off in the end : )
Cheers, and thanks for looking

Haven't posted in a couple of days cause the site was down or something.
ÄÄÄÄÄööööhhhgrhm ok, so the first one is a study that kind of failed, but I learned a couple of things while doing it. That's always greatThe other one is me trying to do an environment from mind. I think I did ok, but the best thing about this painting is that I learned A LOT from it. For example using the lasso tool is fucking great

Thanks for looking and c&c is always appreciated : )

Very nice studies. It looks like you are learning a lot about color theory. I especially like the color palate in the most recent portrait.
For Science- Sketchbook!
It has been almost three weeks since my last post so haaalllooouu again. I've been having problems with my wrists and fingers and I haven't been able to draw as much lately(Hoping it's nothing serious :/).
Anyway here is some of the stuff I managed to do in the last three weeks.
I'm kind of proud of this one. My main goal with it was realistic colors and I think I did pretty well. I didn't use any references either so yeah
I'm happy with it.(EDIT. Ahhahaa I just realised how awkward her left hand look. I guess I forgot to draw it properly.
Durrr, just a simple study.
This one is supposed to be a painting of the Wall. I happy with some parts, but I think the composition is pretty bad. It's kind of a WIP, but I'm not sure if I'll ever finish it.
Here I tried to depict a more compelx scene but I kinda lost interest in it so it's still a WIP. If nothing else, painting that was good perspective practise.
This last one is just a portrait practise, that turned out okay.
That's it, Thanks for lookingC&C greatly appreciated!

The wall! need to make that sword a little bigger so its a bastard sword and make the guy John Snow
Compositionally the diagonal leading out of the frame isnt a good move, maybe swap what side the character is on? I dunno, but the colouyrs a re really good, your colours in general are really good! Keep up the good work, nice to see![]()

A little update. Some of the stuff I've done in the last couple of days.
Been doing a lot of stuff on paper, but I'm waiting for a scanner which I should get next week. So you can expect a bigger update then
Study
Would really appreciate any crits on this one. I really kind of like it and would like to finish it, but it just doesn't feel right to me and I have no idea why. Is it the composition, the perspective? etc. I've stared at it for too long, and I really can't say what's wrong with it.
(WIP)
Shitty anatomy, but it was a quick one so I thought I'd upload it anyway.
Thanks for lookingComments and critique is always very much appreciated.

An update! So just a bunch of stuff from the past couple of weeks. Some of those sketches are a bit older. Going to update more stuff from my skechbook from now on
Thanks for looking : P I'd really appreciate any comments or critique.
Learned a bunch of stuff doing this and overall I like it. I do think it's kind of too clean or something, don't really know how to explain it.
This was for studying colors
Perspective stuff. Gotta do way more of this shit.
Ahahahahahahahahaaaaa this is embarrasingly badglad I didn't spend much time at all on it. The likeness is really a failure. I mean it's supposed to be Emma Watson.
Used that Soft airbrush way too much
Quick portrait. I kinda like it even though it's not that good.
Stuff from my skechbook. Lent a scanner from a friend
This is my favourite of these : ) Me thinks the hat is awesomeI want one
Like these faces. Done from mind

@TNiznet Thanks mateGlad you liked them.
This was done from imagination. Don't really like it, but it was good practise. This one was 50 minutes probs.

Hey to update the name and thumbnail of your sketchbook you have to edit your first post in your sketchbook. The first attachment in that post will be the thumb also........
Also, Great sketchbook!!! Yea i would most def put in the boring long hours for perpective. It will really teach you to draw and capture form in 3d space better. Its been really awarding for me!!It will pay off greatly in the endBut all your anatomy and paintings are amazing!! Alot better than i can do. Keep up the great work!!!!

Yet another person whose rendering style makes me jealous! These are fantastic digital paintings. I especially love the girl with the sword on the first page! Amazing foreshortening and lighting! I'm so into your style! I'll be checking back soon!
i havnt been in here in a while but last time you said you are having trouble with environments, well certainly looks like you have been practicing cuz these new environments are look very well done! nice updates!
Hey man, thanks for stopping byLove your pencil stuff and some of your environments are really kickass. Do more imagination stuff and keep the hard work!

My sketchbook - Please, help me growCritique very appreciated
Great start to a SB! I double what Joe said above. The perspective studies are gonna be your best chance at advancing in all skills involved with art, since it teaches you correctly how to draw in 3D space as well as apply correct lighting in 3D space. They might seem unimaginative and boring, but it's such a good feeling to not have to worry about your fundamentals when you just want to sit down and doodle a bit or come up with some quick designs. Keep up the good work and I'll be back to see some updates from you.
Stuff is looking good!
I like how you balance your imaginative stuff and your studies. Seems like a god mix!
No real critique, just a little side note.
Try to take care where you use the airbrush.
Especially when it comes to the background you seem to use it quite a lot.
Try out other brushes too.![]()
thanks for dropping by my sketchbook! Love your environment progress! I have the same issue as you on that >< lets work together! fighting!
Hey man, thanks for dropping by my SB. You're off to a solid start I'd say! Since you're 18 (19 now), all you need to do is keep up with your studies and just be relentless so that when you're in your mid-20s you'll be fucking dynamite. Just don't stop. There'll be plenty of work. What would be even better is if you already know what kind of artist you'd like to be - seems like you're gravitating towards fantasy illustration (but that's just my guess) - so that you'll know how to focus yourself better. What I mean by 'focus' is what you need to study and what you don't.
Anyways, that's my 2 cents for now. Drop me a line whenever you need any feedback mate. Keep up the good work!
@Joe777k7 : Yeah I really need to start doing more perspective stuff and I promise I will. Thanks and I will!
@Hendecagoner : Thanks a lot! I loved doing that one, glad that you liked it
@kevin_ : Yeiii!Glad to hear they look good. Need to practise way more though. Thanks!
@jakubvavrik : Thank youI think I need to do way more studies
well honestly, I need to do way more of both studies and imagination stuff.
@MrFrenik : Thanks a lot mate. Yeah I know and I'm thinking of commiting a couple of weeks purely to perspective studies, probably next month. The idea of not having to worry about any of that stuff while sketching is really attractive. Can you recommend any tutorials or sites for practising perspective? Thanks again
@Nemome : ThanksYeah I use it a bit too much, don't I. Heh
@Nerferinn : No problem and thank you tooYeah let's kick the ass of environments and bend them to our will together. Fighting!
@Mr.Pryminista : Thanks for the feedbackYeah I guess I'm leaning towards illustration, but I don't want to limit myself to fantasy only. I'd like to be able to do a lot of different kind of illustrations
.
@Joe777k7 : I was busy sorry
Updateeeeeee! Oh man the last two weeks have been really busy for me. I finally moved out of my parents apartment and am now living in an apartment with 3 roommates. Unfortunately I didn't have that much time for art, because there was all sorts of stuff we had to do. Painting walls, buying things, moving a lot of stuff for our new apartment. Anyway it's cool now and we're finally starting to settle down and things are almost back to normal.
I did manage to do some stuff though, so I thought I'd post them.
Study on lighting and skintones.
Another on lighting and skintones. Turned out pretty well IMO.
Here I tried to apply the stuff I had just studied. No reference ofcourse. I don't really like it, but I learned from it and that's the important thing.
Also applying the stuff I had studied earlier. No ref. I think she looks kinda weird, but I'm happy with the colors and lighting. Learned a lot.
A quick indoors environment study. Probably going to do a lot more of these soon.
A quick sketch for a possible illustration. Probably not going to continue it though.
Some space suit sketches. The other was done after I looked at astronaut suits for like 20 minutes.
A bad perspective study that was done way too quickly. I was a bit impatient.
This one is an update on an earlier illo I posted here. It's still not quite finished but I think it looks much better now
Thanks for lookingC&C appreciated.
http://conceptart.org/forums/showthr...oy-called-Papu <-- Sketchbook :=)
Was lazy today and only did this. It's another study on lighting and colors. No Ref
