    Smile The practice: Searching for ongoing improvement

    Hi, I'm Natii,

    I finally got the courage to turn my practice public beacause I'm looking for constructive criticism.
    I'm a young and unexperienced Illustrator seeking a hell lot of improvement!
    I consider my technique medium, but with some bad flaws attached to it. For the first time I'm challenging myself to sketch every day, changing themes every week.

    So that you have an idea of which themes, this is my list:

    week 1 - Female anatomy (full body, body parts, infants, actions, details, movement...);

    week 2 - Male anatomy (full body, body parts, infants, actions, details, movement...);

    week 3 - Animal anatomy (full body, body parts, infants, actions, details, movement...);

    week 4 - Nature (environments, different species, organic things...);

    week 5 - Dead nature (clothing, objects...);

    week 6 - Urban stuff and perspective (buildings, city environments, urban objects...);

    week 7 - Mechanical stuff (technology, automobiles, machinary...);

    week 8 - Movement and dynamic stuff (dancers, water, fire, flight...)

    This is an ongoing process, every time I get to the end of week 8, I start the list all over again, and so on =).

    If you find there should be more themes added to my list, please feel free to share =), I'm trying to draw as much of everything as possible!

    Wow! Very cool first week! Can't wait to see where you go with this! I did a similar challenge last year. I went for 100 days! Unfortunately I fell off after that quite a bit and was on and off. Especially with a million and one priorities jumping in the way, i.e. life. lol I did see quite a bit of improvement though so I'll trying to move back into action now. But I digress, as seems to be the usual for me these days. I just wanted to say I would love to follow you stuff. Maybe that will keep me going too Good luck to you! I love it so far.

    Can I ask, did you use a ref at all here?

    Your nose and eye closeups look really good! Also your rendering style for the full color poses is pretty cool too. Do you eyeball the colors or did you color pick?

    Thank you very much ^^!
    On the big speedpainting I picked up most of the main colors, and worked them from that point on, but on the rest I just painted them randomly.

    Week 4 - Nature

    Hello There, I have to apologize for posting late... and mostly for cheating on the theme this week, I got really distracted and carried away with female anatomy, sorry, I'll try to concentrate more on the theme this week!

    Hope you like my sketches and light study:

    Wow! I knew your final rendering style would be mind blowing! The lighting study is excellent, needless to say. And the more and more I see these environment studies the more I feel encouraged to break out of my fear of drawing landscapes and just do them! Really excellent work. And I agree with KateyParr. I can definitely see you going places.

    Those sceneries are fantastic! -as is the painting of the woman *wow*
    I also really liked that animals, though you should remember that felines are 100% slinky so they do not have a prominent ribcage (gap between their forelegs) like dogs and horses do. http://image.shutterstock.com/displa...d-47954065.jpg vs. http://images.colourbox.com/thumb_COLOURBOX3209821.jpg
