lighting/color/anatomy crits!

I'm having a little bit of trouble with lighting and coloring! And any anatomy critiques would be much appreciated.

Also, any advice for backgrounds? I'm trying to work on that too...!!! It's still a work in progress, so it's really, really rough!

Neither lighting or anatomy are really evident here. Given this style you've chosen, I'd simplify the anatomy a lot but opt for more accurate lighting.

Pick where your light source is, to begin with.

I agree about the lighting. Perhaps identifying the light as being a dramatic light directly above them would help you finish the piece.

The structure of the man face is very nice though. It's got like a classic comic book look to it.

The man's hand seems kind of humongous. Try putting the heel of your hand on your chin and see how far up your forehead your fingertips land. I really like their faces.
