Yoo whats up my names Ellis im a 19 years old (male) and i just started drawing about a year ago. So yea, im here because i want to improve my skills at art and it would be nice to get your guys' opinions and critiques on my work so i can get better at a faster rate, right now i feel as though i am not where i should be with my drawing and painting abilities so i really reallly want to get better so i will update every day and show you guys my sketches and paintings or what ever art i do and hopefully i get better over time. Hey Ellis, good start so far. I see you are practicing a lot anatomy. After loomis?
You have to make these studies every day to get a good understanding of anatomy. so keep going

The amount of work you're doing per day is great. Keep it up and it will be amazing to see where you stand a year from now compared to where you were when you started.

Great proportions and gestures! The figures don't look stiff, which is a nice accomplishment.

    Keep going!

hey man, I like what I'm seeing. Maybe you can add more rhythms with some confident lines. here's what I'm talking about http://www.orbikart.com/gallery/disp...?album=6&pos=1 I need to be doing this more as well! Finding rhythms when added with the knowledge of how to construct something (using perspective and simplified shapes (cylinders, boxes, spheres...) is what makes a figure drawing have both good gesture and good anatomy. I hope this helps! keep on going man! gogoogogogogogo

awesome studies! i noticed though that there's a huge difference between your memory and ref draws, i'm sure once your memory skills catch up, you'll improve really quickly! so keep working hard on it! don't loose your motivation!

good job on the paintings! on the other hand, i dare you to draw 15 poses and it can only be from memory! quick/developed ones, your choice, but at least try getting the frame down : D

iunno if this would help, but any kind of drawing is better than none && i used to draw only from memory so it's easy for me to draw poses without ref, but difficult for me to do still life. xd good luck. feel free to turn down this dare and do something else, your choice
