    Focus more on?

So I'm a beginner and want to get good at drawing, I've been reading around the forums, so basically my question is should I focus more on observational drawing/ drawing from life. Or focus more on drawing in perspective, studying on how to draw forms in perspective etc. I know both are important, but I want to know which is good to start for a beginner artist.

I would say if you are a complete beginner focus on getting comfortable with your tools and controlling your accuracy. Its important to be able to draw objects well before drawing them in perspective. You will need simple perspective almost as soon as you start to draw but not quite. When you go from shape to form perspective becomes more important.

Just draw for now. Don't worry about right or wrong way to go about it...when you are beginning it is all uphill and all of it is important. Draw interesting things around you...draw yourself...draw perspective studies...draw from imagination.
