My first try at stippling - time lapse video. Thoughts and suggestions?

I started stippling after taking an art class in college that introduced me to the art form. This is my third attempt, and I took a time lapse video to show my process. Please share your thoughts. I just want to improve.

My god that looks time consuming. My question is how did you arrive at such a precise construction, is it traced or drawn with perspective techniques?

Yes it's extremely time consuming, but I like it because you can correct your errors easily and make changes midway through. I had it drawn up on a separate piece of paper and used a light box to trace it through.

Your capability is impressive on the technical side of things but I wish you would shed more info on why you decided on this composition and what was your goal beyond testing your skills?
I'm not trying to be an asshole , I'm just asking because it looks like a realistic car on a white background and kinks + distortions aside, something similar to the end result can be accomplished by digitally processing a photo using special filters.
so I just don't get it?

I just enjoy creating vehicles. It is a replica of an existing car. I actually work in the prototype department for a major car manufacturer, so I enjoy working with the design and creation side of things. I've though about adding shadows or even a background but I'm new to that form of detail.

If it's a hobby then fair enough it's pretty hard to say your doing anything wrong. However speaking as a member of this art comunity i would find it much more interesting seeing a video of your construction techniques. I know that may have been the opposite of what you may have thought but yeah, I'm currently trying to improve my freehand perspective and would find the pre-rendering of this video very interesting if you could do a demonstration of that.

you spent so much time stippling those wheels and then theyre off >.<. the front wheels depth isnt going to the correct vanishing point, the rear wheel is too thin, and their plane transition is too abrupt. while you can fix the later 2 easily, the first issue is a real problem.

feel free to ignore the following, as it is just personal taste...

i had to do this for 3 months 5 hours each week in school, stippling different matters... textures, forms and last a watch. in my opinion this is completely useless. and ugly. using lines, like in the drawings of franklin booth e.g. is a different matter in both aspects. they need to be designed well to work, so youd learn a bunch trying it. and more important they are incredibly beautiful. but stippling is so UGH... adding the time it takes, it, to me, is the most useless technique of all.

other than that.. well, respect for your dedication.

And I can understand that completely. It is definately not an art form for most people. I really seem to enjoy it and I'm not sure why. It might be because t seems to be the only thing I'm good at haha.

The wheels always seem to be an issue. Ive done a few since and I never feel like I'm getting them quite right. I will try your suggestions next time.

Well in all honesty there just isn't much more to say about the piece. I think we all admire your patience and dedication for stippling this thing all the way through, but as others have pointed out it is off in terms of perspective and proportion and you have already been given thoughts for your next work (try using lines/a different technique/show us more of how you construct your work).

I wouldn't add a background to this. The car already stands so you would just be building the background around it which is a rather backwards way to work (usually you start with the background or at least the overall composition/look of the piece). What else is there to be said? Simply do more work and show it to us

Stippling lends itself to portraits pretty well, almost as well as technical drawing. You could also branch out a little bit with adding in some color and do some basic pointillism.

I don't see why you didn't stipple out all over the car to start with and work up to the darker sections. Over thinking each section is why you made the mistakes sone_one pointed out. Try a still life next - something that won't go off.
