The new Muse album.
I start class tomorrow.
i have life drawing at 8:00 in the morning tomorrow ^^ and its an hour long bus ride to get there : D
I heard the new Katatonia song and, to my relief and great surprise, it RULES. I guess that was last night, but whatever. (technically last night)
It's raining out, and I love the rain.
I've been downloading and listening to FLAC versions of all my favorite albums, sounds great.
I booked an appointment for my driving test, so I can be assured that I'll have my license soon.
I'm looking forward to my new Technics SL-1200 MkII Turntable to come in the mail. It should be the best audio quality I've heard in my life.
I'm also looking forward to hearing the 2009 King Crimson Digital Remasters/Remixes by Steven Wilson with Robert Fripp. They should be amazing. They're coming out in October and I'll preorder those some time this week.
Chyeah...
ALSO, I'm PSYCHED to see Porcupine Tree this Friday!!!
Oh, and in the realm of PT I found that a very attractive girl at my school is a fan of them. That was unexpected and quite cool.
What has you stoked today?

The word ‘anarchy’ comes from the ancient Greek αναρχία in which αν meant ‘without’ and αρχία meant first a military ‘leader’ and then ‘ruler’. Anarchist society is one ‘without rulers’: a classless, non-hierarchical society.

Heard it, unfortunately it's kinda "gay space disco".
Will they ever just back down and release an album that is 12 songs as good as "Time is running out"..?
/sad face
Edit: that said, I'm always a bit funny about Muse albums at first, I generally like them much better in 6 months..

The fact that I've done 2.5 paintings in the last 4 days.
(Also the new muse album is pretty good.. not "gay space disco" per se but a bit more "weird space orchestra")

I think I finally fixed my computer! (that I mentioned in the "what pissed you off today?" thread). It took 5 days, I had to turn of system restore to prevent all the bugs from re-installing themselves with each reboot, I had to run a scan with AVG in safemode, which got rid of several trojans, Malwarebytes got rid of about 3 trojans and 2 rootkits, I had to get Avast to do a scan with a reboot that found and deleted 197 viruses, then I had to do ANOTHER scan in safemode with AVG which got rid of more trojans then run ANOTHER reboot scan with Avast which found and removed 8 trojans, then I had to install Spyware Doctor to remove 2 trojans and 176 rootkits. That's the short version. But still, I think I fixed it just in time for the PC release of Batman Arkham Asylum! (knock on wood)
New Neon Horse album. Also, old Neon Horse album.

A girl I don't even know stood at my desk in studio today for 20 seconds silently overlooking my last project, and without looking up, said, "I hate you," then walked away.

Other than my recent purchase of a ps3, i've been moving back to working with pencils in oppose to 100% digital. I still end up taking the drawing into photoshop for color, but when i draw something, or start something in pencil it seems to almost always have a different feel and look than one done 100% in photoshop. So i've been liking that. "stoked"? sure.
"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

I spent my Monday afternoon sitting at the local Borders sipping coffee and making progress towards my next round of portfolio submissions. That's pretty much my 'Happy Place' these days. Now that I can afford access to the net my mailing list for the next round of submissions is up to about 80 relevant studios from LA to Vancouver to NY. I've lost 20 of the 40 pounds I plan on losing during the layoff and there's legislation in the pipeline that would effectively extend my unemployment through November of 2010 with 'saveable' checks that'd pay my minimal bills till sometime late 2011 if need be.
I ought to be able to upgrade the portfolio multiple times with that kind of open space.
I feel like I finally control my destiny as far as being able to spend my time updating presentation materials, researching studios, taking shots at jobs, and being in solid shape when I get somewhere. It's a good feeling.
Got a new painting professor over the summer. He's awesome. Very talented, knows his comics, can hold a conversation about ninjas and has so much to teach that I cant wait to get more in depth in the class.
Passed my driving test today just in time for me to drive to leavers (Australian name for celebrations after you graduate from year 12, pretty much just driving into the bush and drinking till you forget everything that you learnt)
