Hello all! I've been doing prepress for 10+ years and am looking to get out of print and do something creative for a change. Possibly doing concept work, or illustration. So crits and pointers would be appreciated.

Very good start -I'd suggest that you try to make your lines cleaner and scribble less, otherwise just keep practicing c:

Had a sketch. Did some photoshopping. Hated it lots. Started over. Hate it less, decided to post it.
Post #8 shows a huge improvement. #9 though has some really glaring issues with structure, especially in her face and headpiece. I also kind of feel that where you were starting to get a good handle on a realistic armor texture in #8 you lost it in #9. Her armor looks smooth in areas and like carpet in others.
This is good work though. Keep practicing and posting![]()
Armor Practice!
An idea thats been in my head for a while. Playing with color.

i like whats going on in here, keep working on those brushstrokes make it less messy every time, or at least try, some study of structure wouldnt hurt since i some proportion issues here and there, it all boils down to practice so just keep doing more and more!

Looks good
The background textures looks impressive and your sketches without colors looks no so good!
work on that please!
I really like the last sketch as it has lots of great coloring!
I really like the multiple figures sketchpage, you've got very fluid lines and a lovely style! I think the scribbly line quality can work for you, as long as it's there to explore the forms and not just fill up space.![]()
I really like the liveliness of your figures, although I have noticed you draw your bodies and faces quite similarly, perhaps studying Andrew Loomis - Drawing Heads and Hands Along with his figure drawing book Figure Drawing For All It's Worth could be of use. The Vilppu Drawing Manual could also aid you as well. good luck with your sketching!![]()

Morning sketches
Looks like a good start to me! Your lines are looking good, and it looks like you are experimenting with different lighting effects and camera angles which is all excellent! The only advice I could give is to do studies from life. Personally, I hate doing that. But whenever I force myself to do some studies, I always see some immediate improvement. Keep it up mate!
