Played WoW for a long time, never did any fanart of it. So I thought it could be fun doing one in hopes of one day making a card for Blizzard, in a dystopian future of course.

Got a comment on my jade study that claimed it looked like a melon. I agreed, so I had to make an extensive research spanning days on the diffrence between jade and melon. It's serious being an artist, I swear.

My mates and I are doing a project very similar to The Skillful Huntsman book. It's the same concept of redesigning a fairytale but we chose to work with Snow White. The Brother's grimm version. It's obviously not going to be as good or professional. But we feel that it would be a nice challenge for us to take on. So here's some of the initial silhouettes and design ideas. It's really fun at least!

Moar silhouettes, since I know people love watching them. Or not! And here's the result of some designing. All this slow work really pays off in the end.

Gannicus from Spartacus study. Really enjoyed God of the Arena.
I tried blur effects to get some focal points. I feel very novice when it comes to Photoshop as a program. I hardly know any of the effects I can utilize to help me out. Obviously I'm not out to mask my incompetence though! Just want to bring in a new dimension.

Feels like I'm slowing down in progress again and I'm not sure what to do to bring myself back on track. This was mostly an attempt to practice an expressive face. Still having problems with edges aswell. I might have an ineffective renderingstyle or something. I don't know. I'll just keep pushing myself and see what happens.

Sci-fi castle sketch. Having some trouble really bringing in the details in environments. I draw like five houses and then I can't come up with more, they also kinda lack any visual cues on them

Little warmup study on Nergal from Behemoth. I like the facial expressions that most black metal singers make. Nice hard contrasts.

Morning study, I focused on the overall aspect of the armor this time, not so much the details. I hardly ever do very long studies, is that something that is recommended? And also, I'd like to know if anyone thinks that I'm going in the right direction with my art?

Some more kingly silhouettes

First male model in a very long time, so it took some time to adjust! I've been trying to stray away from the realistic side of depiction during the latest croquis classes, being more loose and trying to be dynamic. It's quite liberating in a sense, because of the constraits you get when you focus on a pretty image and not a dynamic study. Also todays sketchbook page.
