Hi,

An artist is needed for a comic book project that two young writers from Edinburgh, Scotland are
working on. The style that we are looking for is in the vein of Charlie Adlard, Bryan Hitch, Carlos
D’Anda, Steve McNiven etc. The story is dark and dramatic with flashes of humour peppered
through it and chronicles the struggles of a man who loses his family to an ethereal battle for power
beyond our world.

We need an artist with the ability to provide pencils, inks and colours (or the equivalent with art
software on your computer) relatively close to the central belt of Scotland with whom we can build
a good professional rapport. We are willing to negotiate price per page but we aren’t millionaires so
please be gentle with us!

If you’re interested, please have a quick read of the synopsis below and then give us a shout at the
email addresses provided.

If faith is what God gives to reassure us that He will help us through our darkest moments, we should
first ask ourselves one question - if we are all made in the mould of God, and nobody is perfect,
where does that leave God?
Cal Parsons is a gifted astrophysicist, devoted husband and loving father of two young boys. He lives
his life honestly and longs to improve humanity’s knowledge of the unknown universe. However,
there is only so much Cal and humans in general can know about their surroundings. Beyond the
realms of our world, wars are waged among selfish and arrogant deities for power and control. God
and The Devil are battling for the power in question and the Devil is winning – because God has
become an alcoholic, self-deprecating mess.
Yes, beyond our world lie secrets never intended for humankind – secrets that will change Cal’s life.
Our lives.
Our world.

With the ultimate pre-apocalyptic premise, Cal will encounter an action-movie addicted pretty boy Death, a
supermarket get-up-and-go manager type Devil, a wheelchair bound hallucinating old man and a highly offensive
drunken mess of a God. The Plight aims to combine a dark drama with elements of laughter, heartbreak and
downright ludicrousness into regular issues of a mini-series.
