Skin Tone Study---Critique Please

This is a painting I did recently to try to tackle skin tones, which I have yet to manage until this painting. But, I figure there is probably a lot of mistakes I'm missing so I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Also I realize that her nostril being pushed up without the presence of the hand makes no sense, but I kept it because it was crazy and funny looking.

Other critiques unrelated to the skin tone specifically are also welcome.

Lastly I was trying to get a likeness so if you have any thoughts on how I could have made it look more like the original photo's face I would appreciate that as well.

All the color is washed out and the forms of the face are not well described. There are more subtle hue chroma and value shifts then you are seeing.
