Need some constructive criticism

I am in the process of trying not to do everything and focus on one style, or something. Im not happy with my portfolio but there are some things that just bother me. So I was hoping to get some critiques. If it's good tell me why, if bad tell me why. Thanks everyone! Time to remodel the place. Sorry I am not very active here because of other stuff I do...and my connection can be rather unreliable.

Your portfolio site took me so much to load that i don't have the time to watch it, i'l give you some hint later on the day about your art.

As a fellow graphic designer I think that your print section is pretty solid. I liked you business cards and party fliers especially. The XBOX game cover looks a bit... unfinished to me, maybe you should add more details and rework the background.
About the illustrations - I'm definitely not a pro, but I'll consider to add other compositions than only characters glued one on top of the other. After a while it's starting to be a bit too homogenic.

To the poster above - actually the site loads really fast on my comp.

It's not that the website is slow, it's too slow for clients. I had to spent several minutes to watch what i wanted to watch cause the site was loading the full size image as a thumbnail and cause of the gallery i cannot even watch the native resolution.
This is BAD for business.

About the art anyway i can't tell what you want to be, maybe a graphic designer. In that case i can't help you much bur i can tell you that you need a lot of anatomy and perspective study if you want to get better in figures and backgrounds or architecture in general. For graphic well you should really learn color theory cause it will help you so much with your work.

Thanks so much guys!! The graphic design was self taught because it was the quickest to do and make money. Any direction for books? I love learning but it is hard to find a good book these days with so much around.

Flash is all I know but I really want to design something more stable. wow...no telling how many potential clients I have lost.

More more I need to know more.

I think what I need is color theory the most because I did not take in my undergrad studies... anatomy I need to just practice with on an every day basis like mentioned. but color theory and perspective I see that I have kept a distance. Not sure if it is fear or laziness but it is time to face the music.

As an artist you have to draw on every day basis and you are committed to explore the possibilities to create something on 2 dimensional surface to look as a 3 dimensional.

Be aware that color theory for Graphic Design purpose is a bit different from color theory of paintings. The last one is used to understand natural colors and how it works instead of the graphic design one that includes all the manipulation and tricks that could be done with colors in order to make feel emotions or grab the attention (some of them are in the general color theory topic anyway). You should learn the basic first and the graphic then.

I'm highly recommend that you should let people save your image, since all of AD will want to save back some of artists work to check out later, or attach to mail to forward it to others may interested, they dont want to go over and over again to find the image that you bury inside the flash page.
