Lazy quick painting of my mouse. I kept spacing out and using it while I was painting so it was constantly shifting positions. I really struggle with painting bright light too.

Went to see Wreck-It Ralph last night and drew some people in the cinema while waiting in line. I need to work on being able to draw faster.
This is one of six acrylic paintings I've been working on for my studio class. The idea is to paint a baby from photo reference in a "painterly" style using a wide colour palette to show value. I've been struggling a lot with it and I'm not particularly happy with any painting I've done so far. We're not supposed to refine a lot or use realistic colours, which is bothering me a lot.

Keep up the studies!Your lines are rather messy, try to resist putting down so many and try to get what you want to draw down in the fewest lines possible. It'll help you become more accurate in your strokes.

Thanks for the comment Umbravita! Gah, yeah, lines are something people keep telling me to fix. I really need to start focusing on it.
Did a fairly quick (45min-ish?) self-portrait while waiting for my dinner to deliver. One day I'd like to make one that I like enough to use as a profile picture. I have a fairly well-defined jaw and high cheekbones, which I always end up drawing in a way that looks masculine.

Haven't been doing much the last few days. Hit a bit of a wall with the self-portrait.
We did some abject photography in class to get us to play around with lighting and composition techniques. I'm sure all of these photos will make actual photographers cringe at the poor quality, but we had a lot of fun finding and constructing things for this project. I think we ended up taking sixty or more photos themed around these "bugs".

Haven't been doing very much lately besides playing video games. I went down to our school's barn and tried drawing some horses before my fingers froze off. I think I walked away with a very basic understanding of the shapes found in horses.
Then I drew a basket at work full of those trendy rubber bracelets everyone and their mother owns. I don't think the bracelets read very well.

I love this photoshop brush but I never get a chance to use it. Just did a quick doodle for the hell of it.
